Solid changes there. The new maps look neat to try out, and fisheries giving housing will definitely make you want to play a little more with that promotion for Liang. Coastal cities still won't be beasts, but should at least be able to grow more now, and with Admirals giving better bonuses, should help too.
Mausoleum is now the coastal Petra, can't wait to see the max yields of some of those coastal tiles now.
The Veterancy change is really, really awesome. More fun with Military Cards and a great buff to Coastals as well! Really good change!
Changes to Fisheries are ... a change ... that will be in the next patch ... which, I guess, is good. I mean. Yay... Sorry. I've just never been that excited about Fisheries. It's a good change, I guess. Production for Fishing Boats and Food for Plantations is also welcome.
And Masoleum becoming Sea Petra is good. Reddit has made very clear people like all the different Terrain Petras. Sand Petra. Snow Petra. Ice Petra. Jungle Petra. Lake Petra. I don't think Masoleum is going to some OP super Wonder. It'll just be fun, that's all.

Overall looks good! Maybe I'll actually use the fourth tier governments now that they give two more slots over the modern ones. Looking forward to trying out the new map types as well.
Glad I was wrong in my interpretation of the lack of recent QA branch updates. Here's to hoping the patch is actually ready to drop later this week.
Admiral tweaks are something I didn't think about, but actually sound good. I have lots of times when I'm playing peaceful games but have lots of harbors for trading purposes and don't know what to do with these admirals lol.
Too bad they're nerfing indie bands, they were hilarious. I'm glad that Spaceport bands can now play on Campuses, and Seaside Resort bands can now play at Harbors, becuase I almost had the chance to have my bands play on Spaceports/Resorts
I think "Continents & Islands" may be my new go-to map type. That sounds super good
Now I have to get Mauseoleum, Petra, Chichen Itza, and St Basil all in one city. So much work!
I'm glad I held off on trying Victoria and Wilhelmina until this patch. And Gitarja! Looks like I am going to get some use out of that Continents +Islands map.
The last update was one of the best, if not the best update they released so far and I played only one match since them. Shame. I got addicted to other games =/.
I'll wait into this update drops and play Civ like there's no tomorrow.
Finally some coastal cities buffs, as they promised they would do. They seem good enough to make a difference but not too much to suddenly create a coastal meta. Halicarnassus buff means that now we have a desert, tundra, jungle and coastal Petra =D. I still hoping for a Maori change since it lost a bis of its uniqueness in the last update.
I’m a bit intrigued by the wait. Why would Firaxis wait that long this time around? What would they gain or the game gain by the wait? I don’t think they would do it out of spite, but there must be either a financial or a strategic benefit. Or, well, it just got pushed back.
Regardless, these constant and pretty meaty updates really proves their desire to keep Civ VI relevant and around for a while. With the upcoming Humankind release, they could really benefit from a really good third expansion and/or really monitor what Humankind brings to the enjoyment of the player base and take it into account for a really powerful Civ VII release.
If a dev is lurking among us and feeling like manifesting yourself to us, mere mortals, I've a question: Does the AI try to settle the other continent in the Terra map? I imagine it would in late game, when the AI seems to start a second push into settling if they find room but does it have any special behavior in the Terra map?
I guess I don't understand the nerfs to some of the bands, especially with how high the likeness of breaking up is. If I can get one band to perform more than twice it's an accomplishment.
Nerfing arena rock bands hurts. The serf rock nerf doesn't make much sense. How often do you find water parks to play at?
I am happy with nerfing- I think rock bands are far too powerful a force for cultural victories, and should be supplemental to wonders, great works, and parks instead. These changes don't make that happen, but they at least move us in that direction.
I personally would have liked even harsher treatment, though I am probably a bit of an outlier.
Very happy to see that they implemented the major adjacency to reefs for campuses that I suggested a while back (Though I'm not necessarily implying that I'm the only one who has thought of that, it's a pretty obvious idea)
