Scientific Great Leaders have (inadvertently) been turned-on for COTM 24 - this was a mistake, but affects all three classes.

Whilst I hope that they won't materially affect the overall results & rankings for the game, this may happen - so please accept my apologies in advance!

If you get a GL, you can either disband it, or use it. The former is preferred (game balance), but it is not mandated.

yes, I get a SGL, and see this thread,
instead of disband and use it, I keep it standing on the captial, and cost me 2 golds per turn. :p

and why the horbor cost 30s ? rome shouldn't have seafare trait.

A harbour is considered a militaristic building too.

Im new to C3C, I gave up on getting my vanilla patched and went out and bought a copy of complete in order to do Game Of the Month. So.. Iv'e never had a SGL. How do you get them? What do they do better/different that the regular Great Leader?

You can get an SGL by being the first to research a given tech. The chance is 5% for scientific civs and 3% for all others. They can be used to rush both great and small wonders as opposed to MGL's who can only rush small wonders. In addition they can start a scientific golden age but it's bugged and won't help you in any way.

Note, however, that SGL's are normally turned off in GOTM for balance reasons, and this game is the only exception.

I'd recommend disbanding them if you're going to be honourable and not use them... they cost you support, and more importantly, you cannot get an MGL whilst you have an SGL in storage.

Hey, maybe this is an opportunity for some of us to experience the "Scientific Golden Age" bug...?!
