Remember, you can't win a diplomatic victory with only one opponent. If we enter a PA with Gandhi that means there has to be two other Civs left at the end of the game.

I like teasers, its better than nothing :) Judging from the number of swords and the 11 turns left on CoL ... It wasnt taken on turn 1 :(

I hope moscow was razed :D

And I hope we got a boat out to explore those lands to the west of former Russia, preverably with a scout :)
 
Aww the turn report isn't up, guess I'll be seeing it tonight.

@GreyFox When I said 3:1 ratio I meant for longbowmen only. If there were 9 longbowmen in the city, I don't think 5 cat's would lower down their strength enough for 9 swordsmen to win every battle. I saw two longbowmen so with other units so I was thinking 6 for them and like 4 more to cover the rest, 10 units not counting a few cats.

As for a PA, I think we are able to choose that with Nationalism, so we might want to head in that direction once we get Astronomy and Guilds.
 
PA requires FASCISM or Communism. Communism is a much quicker path (see my post on page 2 or 3) ;)
 
The Seige of Moscow

The first Catapult is sent in - VQ's Catapult (5.00) vs Catherine's Longbowman (13.80) Combat Odds: 0.0% - suicide no doubt. We prey it shall not be in vein. The RNG god smiles down upon them, as they withdraw with a few brave men surviving a devistating attack on the city.

And yes I KEPT Moscow! I do not want to raze a size 13 city...

Unfortunatly, the RNG god was not so kind to me the entire turnset. Lost a few troops in an unsucessful attack of Cathy's city to the south-west. There is one LB left there, and we have 3 axes ready to attack.

ChrTh can choose to attack with these, or wait for better odds...
We also have a stack at Cathy's other city, and cats have started bombing down the walls. 2 LB's in that city. It's just a matter of time. I will be very [pissed] if ChrTh does not eliminate her.

I got it, will be playing in about 10 hours. And yes, I will eliminate Cathy. :evil:

EDIT: If you have any qualms of me keeping Cathy's two cities, speak now or forever hold your peace.

Unfortunatly, the RNG god was not so kind to me the entire turnset. Lost a few troops in an unsucessful attack of Cathy's city to the south-west. There is one LB left there, and we have 3 axes ready to attack.

ChrTh can choose to attack with these, or wait for better odds...

I'm content with keeping the remaining two cities. Too bad we can't reasonably extort any techs from Cathy! Actually... if she's founded an island site somewhere... we might get lucky....

Good job taking Moscow ... too ba dabout the remainder of the battles, but man, that battle of Moscow was enough.

Too bad abt Gandhi ... I am restraining myself from giving smartass comments like "See, that's what you have when you raze ciies ... a third civ walks right in and settle under your nose." .... but I digress. :D

One thing abt this Indian city is it may helps us in aligning our religion with Gandhi ... maybe ...

Suggestion for next move: Continue puping up our army and kill Cathy off ...

Yes you heard me, its ok to keep some cities. Just not the ones right next door to much more optimal cities. Nara gained us nothing!!!!!! ;)

I do hope we get religion soon. That's our biggest hindrance right now. With religion, we would have never had to deal with WW and I'm betting our research would be much more healthy. BTW, I can't tell from the screen shot, but did a religion come over with Moscow?

I did see that our power graph line went suddenly flat. ICK.
 
Didn't someone say, that Gandhi founded hinduism. Yakutsk, the one SW, is a Hindu-City. So if you wan't to make PA with Gandhi, wouldn't you want to adopt 'his' religion? Just asking.

IIRC, Moscow holds biddhism, which has been founded by Cyrus.

OK. It IS gospel. Set something up in the worldbuilder. Caravels don't get the option of pillaging. :)

That explains why HC never went out and pillaged our clams off the east coast of Pi-Ramys. (I thought he had pillaged the south clams, but it may have been that they were never hooked up?)


Also, KEEP CATHY'S CITIES! We've already had Gahndi plop down on "our" continent already, we don't need any more problems from him. Since we are always peace w/ him... the only way we can get that city is by culture!

I may not have mentioned it, but CoL came in at the end of my turns... we should be building courthouses as soon as we can (once Cathy is gone... 3 turns maybe?) and build the Forbidden Palace. My vote would be in Moscow.

We want some culture going on Cathy's cities sooner rather than later (Gahndi is Creative also, right?) To put the pressure on his city. I would think with pressure coming from 3 sides, it should flip...
 
I'm not really worried about Hyderabad, it'll flip eventually with two cities on either side and none of Gandhi's cities close by. Moscow is definitely my target for the FP, and I plan on whipping Courthouses in most of the Russian cities.

I see where researching Calendar now ... what's the logic for that? Is CoL tradeable to anybody?

Looked at the save. I'm going to need more than the 3 axes to take Yakutsk, however, I have 2 cats nearby I'm going to send over to suicide. As for Novgorod, that should fall pretty easily once I reduce the defense to 0% (and presuming the RNG God is in my favor :worship: )

That's my fault... I was concentrating on the war so much I didn't pay attention to what the workers should be doing down south by Moscow...

Also, feel free to switch off of Calendar... there's only a couple turn invested in it. I picked it to be able to hook up sugar/spices, etc.
