SGOTM 12 - One Short Straw

If you haven't finished the fort at Paris-1S, IMMEDIATELY cancel all those worker actions. Then you can continue building the fort till it has 1t to completion, but DON'T finish.

Then you can safely move the two CRII maces to Orleans-NE. Leave the medic on the hill at Paris-SW. Leave the chariot in the galley.

Then you will see if the stack moves to the corn. If so, the chariot goes to Paris-1S and pillages the road, and you can move as many maces as you feel necessary back to Paris-1SW. His stack can't reach Paris before our maces do.

If his stack doesn't move toward Paris, but goes to Orleans instead, then you could decide to leave Paris empty with everything at Paris-1SW, but be careful of a unit coming from Lyons.

YOu can check the dyes with the weaker of the two axes, as I said above. If nothing onthe dyes, send the C2 axe to Marseilles 1SW in hopes of drawing the stack back (I doubt it will help though, I think that stack has some sort of mission).

Addendum to post #1692: The medic could go to Paris-W and pillage that road, if needed. That gives you a 1t leeway from Lyons.

But don't leave the hill at Paris-1SW empty!!! EDIT" Yes, this turn you can leave that hill empty if you want, if I'm not mistaken. Good to pillage the Paris-1W tile. Very good. I"ve often regretted not doing something like that when I had a chance in advance.

And bring the other galley closer to the action. We may decide to use the two galleys to attack Lyons, then leave Lyons empty to empty Orleans.

Since we're delaying Shanghai anyway we have time for this campaign. No drastic hurry.

Lure didn't work this turn, a galley just left Orleans now it is NNW of Orleans

an archer going towards Marseilles

Orleans has 3 swords, 3 axe, 3 spear, 3 archers

went ahead with the attack, sacrificed catapult with CRII and then lost the 8 xp macemen

edit other fights went well 3/5 macemen came out unhurt, one that is hurt is at 6.9/8 and the CRI with swords is at 0.8/8 with only 4/5 xp

Orleans has 3 swords, 3 axe, 3 spear, 3 archers

Oops. xpost. Okay Onward!!!
Spoiler :
Okay, we have a few choices. 1) Go for Lyons. 2) Go for Marseilles. 3) Move on to MaoLand and forget about Orleans. for now.

Probably the smartest is Lyons. It on a plains and has no walls. In that case, I guess the important concept is to maintain control of the two hills, Paris-SW and Paris-2W at all times. Our Orleans SoD should then go to Lyons. We want to keep about 3 maces at Paris-SW probably. We'd also like to pillage the two roads on the incense tiles to force dG's SoD to walk all the way to Lyons and protect Paris. But pillaging the sw incense is not crucial, so don't lose units trying.

GG born in Bermuda
BLOODY HELL.
That's what I was afraid of the other day... What is the mechanic behind this?
I guess we need the fastest possible galley whip in either Bermuda or Bahamas?

I was afraid of that too. They trade between turns... Oh well. Forget about that for now. Make sure you do everything you had planned for each turn. This warfare can be very distracting.

What's the plan for the GG galley? I imagine the Bahamas fort is still some turns away, so my guess is CUba, Is that the fastest?

T155 Bahamas whips galley
T156 Fort is finished
GG on the galley on T156 and heading towards the mainland (his vacation will be cut as short as possible)
