now that I know about the fluffy bunny it's all over

just a heads up for mods, I mistakenly clicked on the plastic ducks thread instead of phoenix rising (threads were right next to each other and they had 281 posts to our 282). I realized mistake immediately on browser header and didn't see any actual content, but just wanted to sned a heads up when somebody notices it on the log

Bookmarks are your friend.

@ jaybone. I think it will be clear that whatever plan PR may be considering was well established before anything you might have seen on PD first page.

I have bookmarked our thread and use this as a direct link. I would suggest you do the same here on in.

Hopefully AlanH/Erkon will not consider the above an infringement on the rules.

Man, I've always worried about clicking on the wrong thread by accident. Luckily, I have not. I'm sure it has bound to have happened several times before. The bookmark idea is good.

Can we please keep the irrelevant comments to a minimum?

I found very little in the last few posts of the Rules discussion thread useful in interpreting the Rules of GOTM-12. I'm frustrated by the fact that I'm unable to ignore it and thus add to it with this post.

A little self-restraint from future would be posters will be greatly appreciated. Make sure your post and any replies remain on the topic of Rules. A little humour is fine, but if your post is 100% off-topic, there are other venues (threads) for that.

Hi all,

I received a question through PM (which is the preferred procedure when you are unsure if the question can be made public or not).

"Do the AIs know where our settler started?"

No, they did not know where your settler was located at 4000 BC. I did not reveal any extra tiles for any AI i.e. it was a normal start from that perspective.

Any further questions related to this answer should be asked through PM, and potential answers from me will be be posted in this thread. I'm sorry for this secrecy but I would like to avoid the risk of spoiler info in this thread.

A rather belated rules question. Do we have to submit the victory save as soon as the victory turn comes up or can we still fiddle around with the save on the turn that we won? Namely, can we still move units around on our victory turn?

To go a step further, from the game description:

Goals
To win the game:
  • All fallout must be cleared
  • Stalin must be defeated (dead)
  • All other AIs must survive and be at peace with the player when space victory is achieved.

So is the date of the Space Ship landing the victory date or can teams continue playing until all victory conditions above are met, which may or may not be the date of the Space victory screen.

EDIT: I assume that the date of the space victory screen is the end of the game, but it wasn't explicitly stated as such (at least that I could find).

The only events that are required to be simultaneous in the victory conditions are a space victory, and peace with all civs other than Stalin. The other events can occur before, during or after this point in time. You are therefore free to complete fallout clearance - or the defeat of Stalin - after you achieve a space victory. You would need to use the "play a few more turns" option to achieve this, of course.

Please note that we will only verify that these conditions apply to your game by looking at your final save. Your final save must therefore include a map that is clear of accessible fallout, a space victory indication, and the relevant sets of dead and alive civs. Its date will be recorded as your submission completion date.
