On that matter, I'm not sure we will be able to extort a tech from Asoka (he proposes nothing when asked what's the price for peace - I tried before closing the game)

We can't extort any tech from him for now since he has archers who are threatening our city, but we don't. Furthermore, it's not necessary to sign peace treaty with him, which delays our capturing of his next city.

The reason why I said difficult is how can we trade our techs to get Monarchy without spreading techs to everyone. Need to study AIs' trade cap a bit.
 
I downloaded the file. I'll unpause and see what Kublai Khan will offer for Currency and/or Aesthetics.

There is also the question of whether or not we should ceasefire. The main problem is that the most dangerous AI, Napoleon, likes Asoka.

Edit: and good job, pomthom. Nerves of steel would have doomed us, I am certain. ;)
 
It is worth putting into a separate post, that Asoka has two Workers at present.

Now that he has lost his capital, he won't produce many more. I don't know how many barbarians are lurking near his borders either.

My thought is that we could cease fire with Asoka and gift him Alpha to bring him back to trade stage. Then we could trade with Asoka and Nappy party since they are backward. I'm not sure about Asoka's trade cap, will he trade away techs which are only known by him and us? Edit: yes he will with 20% trade cap.

Asoka has an iTechTradeKnownPercent of 20, so he could trade whatever we share with him.
