SGOTM 19 - Also Sprach Sid

Golden Sands seems a bit irrelevant due to its food supply. Fail gold is probably better there if possible.

That's one reason why I'm hesitating, another reason is that it does not have cottages. However, it has quite a few forests to be chopped. I'm OK to skip.

Ignore Golden Sands for the time being, unless you have some spare Workers to chop into fail gold (probably not, with Bacon Sandwich and Cornish Cow nearby). We could always chop those Forests into a later wonder for :gold: , e.g. the Taj or Kremlin.

I don't like to base strategy on the hidden requirement, but, besides needing gold for research, it seems entirely possible that we will need to spread the corp to all our cities. So building Wealth and then chopping multiple Forests into a wonder we need anyway could be very profitable in the mid/late game.

----

My only opinion about the capital's Forest is that it shouldn't go into fail gold.

Either chop it in order to complete the Pyramids, or chop it after we are in OR into Oxford.

Keep an eye on HC, to see if he switches into Vassalage (if he hasn't already).

Worker forces are abundant during this period since most cities stop growing.

I could time the chop in capital in the last moment, waste 1 worker turn, but it's fine.

That's good. If the Mids go before we don't "lose" the chop in fail gold, if it doesn't wait for the chop to complete the Mids in 1 turn

T109

Toku produce a spear in capital:( Anyway ready to attack!

BTW, it turned out that Toku's stack is protecting a settler heading south.

Not much to say in the next few turns. All about war.

Will proceed further in a hour or 2, would be nice if someone doubt check the situation.

No point in speculating on the hidden objective of course, but that would indeed be consistent with MGNs end game score decline... (mass whipping of Execs)

Good luck Duckweed

It's late but I'll stick around a bit

EDIT:

Good night then :p

Have a good one!

+200GPT is pretty good. With the 700 we already have and war loot from Toku, we might actually get to have a 100% science slider for quite a while once OU is built...

Should we consider trading for Feud? Then again we might extort it from Toku.

--------------------

AP is Confucian (so much for our calculations ), and for the record I have a feeling HC's next wonder in progress is Parth :mischief:

The save looks good. :)

In terms of wonders, HC has built as expected (with an unexpected chop in capital) and Vienna has kept a constant 44 HPT rate:

T109: 346H
T110: 390H
T111: 434H (1 Forest = +82H)
T112: 478H

If we chop 500H into the Pyramids on T112, we will get it, right?

We could also bribe HC into Pacifism on T111. The cost is 125G at the moment. We'd probably have to give up Music.

He won't whip, as he is running Caste.

----

Good news that Tokugawa isn't in Vassalage. Let's hope his Archers stay Archers.

If Toku moved his Chariots/HArchers to the new Settler, do we need another unit for safety in Thessalonica:

Spoiler :

Our new HArchers from RP need 2 turns to reach the city from this tile.

IIRC correctly, the mechanics for threatening cities with Aggressive AI is twice as effective. Units need to be spread across multiple tiles. This will only matter if we need to ceasefire.

Let's see whether HC is building mids, we can decide on T111.

I'm going to send the HA near Constantinople to Thessa for extra safety.

Shall I proceed? and let pomthom taste something similar as we did last time!:satan:

We have enough EP on Toku to revolt Aksum, right?

If so... :hammer:

P.S. Regular updates appreciated, otherwise I will fear the worst. :D

P.P.S. real Deity players don't destroy any Courthouses they capture. ;)

Toku has three, surprisingly enough.

We are facing spear 1st, then archers. How to attack? unpromoted HA or promoted (which promotion). We have 8 level 3 HAs. Edit: Spy succeeded with 92% odd, there are 1 spear, 2 archers and 2 catas in Aksum.

Only soundjata deserves this title in our team. Many OSS members also showed how good they were in SGOTM15.

I refuse to help due to the quantity and content of the spoilers.

Do you to run some tests? I'm happy to do so.

A test would show whether a Shock promotion causes a CGIII Archer to defend instead.

EDIT: without testing, I'd probably use 3x Combat II Horse Archers against the top defenders. 0XP units can take the ~95% battles and promote/heal after.

I have not run test, but my previous experience of Cui war always faces pike in the 1st place. I think the choice is either shock or flanking.
