If I understand correctly, the SB scouting chariot needs a galley to cross the strait, right? Let’s get a galley down there ASAP.

Is it significantly faster to whip a galley over at Canal or clam? Or a work boat at least?

17 to 20 turns depending on what the unfogged land looks like and how much of a straight shot it is once he gets through SB's culture.

Canal could whip a galley instead of starting on a library after it finishes it's worker. Or we scrap the worker (EDIT: We already have on turn invested in the worker and were planning to whip it next turn after two turns of production) and start the galley right now...

Clam City can 2pop whip a galley on T94.
It would be much faster if we want to navally explore south of Sitting Bulls lands if we use our current galley now on T81.
Would really slow down the missionary to Peter though retasking our current galley, but it would be worth it to meet a new AI.
I guess the missionary produced by Science City and the warrior can both just walk to Whale City.

We could whip a galley on T83 if we made it a priority!
Hmm, looking at my notes, Whale City can whip lighthouse on T92 and galley on T94.
That Science City missionary has a long walk to get over there though.

Yes, but it's unlikely. There would have to be a 1 or 2-tile-wide path running SW through the fog north of the chariot. I do see some ice in the fog NW of where the chariot is now.
Look around some more and see if an AI wb pops up. If not then there's no access to the AI.

The fact that SB doesn't appear to have met another AI based on his 
spending on us makes me think that it's not a land bridge but requires a boat.
