[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

Mitch was much more dialed in to the scouting. I was taking a back seat on this. I can't follow without the screenshot. Hopefully MirrorGuard will chime in too.

With LC's sense of direction, I think we need pictures. haha Plus, it gets him out of the house and a reason to buy a McDonut Hole.

Save uploaded. Hopefully it will open with the only settler I've moved selected to protect against mistakes. As always, be careful,, guys!

I haven't looked yet, but can you put signs that say "REAL SAVE" all over as an added reminder (if you haven't already)? I'll check the save and upload a screenshot or two.

I put BFCs on the blue circles just for reference.

S4 – Wouldn't we want to move him NW-W to the PH? We want to scout out the coast eventually to see if there is seafood to pair with the furs.

If we do find a juicy spot and settle with S4, S3 can defog the rest of the NW.

I'm fine with the rest of the proposed moves.

In general, the land sucks the further north you go but since this is a hand/man-made map, there may be a great city spot up there.

I have a feeling that we're semi-isolated based on the shape of things we've discovered so for. High priority on a scouting wurk boot to go south.

I like Mitch's S4 (nw,w) (especially if S3 is going NE.)
So what' the plan with S3 and S2? S3 does the north water area, but S2?
S7: I like SE-NE to the forest (or maybe SE-E) Either would see across water to the east of that. Then, if we see a 2nd seafood near clams, S7 might be able to finish scouting all possibilities for S5 to settle double/triple seafood.

I discussed that in this post:
Next question is to the north west. Up by the furs and north. The problem here is due N is much closer to our capital where there is a coastal region. So the settler who’s already up there could dip to the west and defog that fur area, loop around and cover the due northern coastal area, where by the way there are no blue circles. Or the settler to the south of cows could come up and defog the northwest furs area on a one turn delay allowing the northwest settler to go up and to the east clearing that coast much sooner. What do you think?
The “dip around” is your suggestion. The problem is S4 settling the furs before defogging to the north. Plus, it would violate a bit WT’s Non-overlap idea. Would also catches my attention is that river going north.

Hodamit. S3 is supposed to be nw...

It’s not just my directions, it’s also the damn w and e next to each other on my minuscule keyboard

Ah. S3 going NW. That's what I thought we were planning. So he can settle furs if needed after S4 makes sure there's nothing better. so that means S2 has to go for the north water. I'm 99% sure that NZ wouldn't put seafood up there after he fogged those tiles, so it's not a priority for us to scout that with S4. He didn't even bother to announce that the new screenshot fogged those extra tiles until he read we were talking about it. So I can't imagine he edited in some seafood.

Science is our capital
off-topic of scouting...(and I know we're not committed to Science here, it's just a name for now).
OCC (true one city variety) loves to have 15 forest/jungle in the BFC and run National Park + Oxford. So our science city might be elsewhere. Since we're doing a Biology rush, we should keep this in mind. I'd love 18 forests and a pig+banana or something.

Different slant on this discussion. Based on our capital’s central location, where do we want to focus on settling next? The closest blue circle is to the east. S5 could go 2ne, then ne-se to avoid getting blocked by the two forest tiles, that risks wasting a turn or two if the land ends there. But S2 could follow that up if needed.

S7 could then go se-ne and evidently ne-? to defog that plains hill (some resource for the blue circle?). Problem is, that southern route is redundant with S5 and leaves fogged tiles north if the ph.

I don't think we can settle anywhere except the coast in the near future or we screw up AH/myst. Unless there's an oasis or at least a river (which we don't see yet east of our capital.) So fur area and clam area seem like priorities.

@WT: sheesh, I hadn’t noticed those defog coastal tiles up north.. Yeah let’s just skip that, basically focus on the east, southeast, northeast, northwest.

@2: yes, I’m guessing east will also be coastal rather than second lake.

That unfogged water 3S-1W of S2 does not need a galley, it's a workable tile. However, it would need a border pop and there are no other food resources, so even if that was a fish, we'd ignore it for now.
(in case you thought my comment about being thorough and fully scoping out included unfogging that tile)
