....killed the oil plain scout by mistake
That'll will cost us some beakers--late GGs, but at least we get the oil workshop. re-task to finish that one ASAP (without wasting too many worker turns)

Of course, before that, we have to sort out the crash. There can't be too many moves to replay, and you have the save from the beginning of the turn or the autosave, right?

So put the latest save somewhere safe and open it.
Replay exactly what you did before.
Save
email both saves to the staff.

Normally, the turn a wonder is completed or the turn after depending on the order the AI plays, there could be a lot of fail gold on the table. Should you always take it right away before it disappears? I'm not saying we did the wrong thing by waiting. I'm asking because when I play alone, any time I see 100+ gold I take it no matter what because I'm afraid it will disappear the next turn. Is it possible that it will stay or even go up the following turn?

It is possible to go up the next turn sure.

The main factor is AI population, turns we have known them, and how much gold we have already gotten from them.

The reasons it vanishes are whipping pop, the AI spending or trading the gold away, or changes in the AI budget.

I thought I understood it based off GhpStage's formulas, but the Anarchy trick isn't working and I don't know why.

If we want Peter teching for us, we don’t wait to give him Corp...
I'd say if Peter is not teching Communism, we should trade him the tech if we have it ya.

Only Chemistry would make me hesitate since we can't defend against Privateers yet.

Both saves have been sent to admins.
Oof, sorry for your troubles Mirrorguard.

All one can do is don't alt-tab out of the game, don't try to load a save while still in the game, and don't have other programs running in the background.

Civ 4 gets progressively harder to run as the hours go by due to a memory leak or somesuch, so saving and starting civ 4 again can make things go smooth again.

Other than those few things, can only hope for the best.

There are several opinions on trading corporation. Does everyone agree we wait for 100+ gold? We already made the huge mistake with the anarchy overflow and lost hundreds of gold there.

I'd say any time an AI has 100+ gold on the table we take it, not just Peter. That's a lot of gold to pass up going forward.

BTW, how did we lose hundreds of gold on the anarchy overflow situation that we didn't know about?

My understanding is that on T0, we picked a tech. The slider was still at 100% but we switched Civics in which case we were getting 0 science and 0 gold. Then, on T1 the OF beakers from T-1 went into a tech. So how are we out 100s of gold? Even if we set research to 0%, we would not have gotten any gold. The beakers went into a tech that we have to research anyway, right? They didn't go into Physics like we would have preferred but they still aren't wasted.

So how did we lose gold?

If the beakers go into a tech we will never finish, it is like we lost the gold ya.

If we had known about the overflow being ineffective, we would not have spent a bunch of gold to generate it.

Oh!
I forgot that Physics would also entice Peter with a free Great Person.

Ok, let's wait for Peter to have gold again before trading away Corporation.

That is where I made the mistake. I thought OF will go into the tech on the turn after anarchy and what I chose at anarchy wouldn't matter. So the OF went into military science...

Now a situation that I never expect is taking place after a chain of mistakes. Now the empire has 573g-175 per turn. Physics requires about 5 turns. There is 1 more sushi exec spread cost.

I was too eager to get the fail gold from Peter. The risk of losing cash and delaying research is greatly underestimated.

That is where I made the mistake
For the record, it wasn't your mistake. The whole team gets blame for this one. Except LC, he's not paying attention :mischief:

Cash looks scary, but it should stabilize relatively fast as Silver grows and adds merchants.
We will have to use the HE gold soon to keep our slider up.

MG, could you upload the latest, so we can see if there is anything like city MM we can tweak? etc. I'm pretty good at stretching the budget.

Ah, I thought the beakers were dumped into a tech that we had to tech anyway. I haven't been paying too much attention to our tech path after the MM beeline. EDIT: And it was not a mistake on your part, MG. It was a misunderstanding by the team about what happened with OF beakers during anarchy. A team mistake! And I include LC in that too. ;)

MG, what is your schedule for playing forward? I assume the PPP is good and that you continue playing on once we've agreed on a) minor MM tweaks to stretch the budget and b) when to cash in on the HE.
