[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

Have we given up on the test game or should we have MG play the test game forward and post it?

MG played very similar to the plan.
I can open the T72 test game and recreate the last 3 turns I think.

The Dun in Profit City got an extra turn to go to 40/50:hammers: which gained us (+1:gold:+2:science:) or +4:gold: compared to the original plan. :goodjob:
Silver City traded -1:food: for +1:hammers: on Workboat by working fur the whole time.

Also, the 1 Worker plan to chop on Turn 77 and then again Turn 78 is back!
That means T76 Dun whips.

We also have the option to waste 1 Worker turn and still do the 2 chops on Turn 77 if we want a few extra :science: from working an extra scientist and coastal tile on T76.

Here is the updated Test Game to Turn 75.

I added in the +244:gold: for Stonehenge manually.
When the Test Game AI completes Stonehenge eventually, just subtract off the 244:gold: with world builder.

Everything else should be the same as the real game, but Sitting Bull's new lands were not added.

Thanks, Kait! :goodjob: I was just coming back here to suggest that we should keep the test game going just a bit longer (maybe through completion of the Oracle??) and then we should be fine. With only 7 cities, we could probably keep it going long but do we want to do that?

Our whip anger is surprisingly low--I suppose cus we need to work the silver/furs to get to CoL.
I'd like to see Science grow since Representation and Gems coming and working Scientists is not good.
But we need one GS for Philo. We will need Caste for 5 turns.
Silver City is looking good. ? 3-whip a library and work 2 scientists for 17 turns? No, too slow
because Education could be only 20 turns after Oracle if we dbl-bulb it..

I guess there's not enough time to get 3 GSs for philo + dblbulb Edu. Hmm. If only caste didn't compete with slavery.

The test game is extremely helpful for testing things.
We should keep it going as long as we can.

I'm concerned that we are sacrificing way too much to get Oracle 1t sooner.
We want to stop working tundraFurs, (possibly phFurs and silver too) and grow/whip. We want to stop using scientists unless it's for the goal of getting one GS.

I also noticed the lack of whip . I think with the one worker plan of chopping in Profit, the Oracle slips 1 turn which means that CoL can also slip one turn. So I think we can afford to do more whipping than planned, right?

The 1 worker can do both chops by T78, but I think it's a mistake to beat up our empire like this.

We do have to make sure that we keep our science rate up so we can't over-whip in the next for turns, right?

CoL in 4 turns (with not much OF, it appears)
Joan Dark chops Profit-2W (3T) and Profit-NW (1T)

I think I should put a mini PPP for the next 4 turns (i.e.through the completion of the Oracle) and then we make a separate plan for the time post Oracle.

The detailed plan has already been laid out by Kait but needs a few tweaks.

Sound good?

Everything was aimed to chop Oracle complete on T78.
Should we be aiming for T79?

yes, 79 chop, 80 Oracle.

No, I think we've already gone too many turns with scientists and tundraFur. I would suggest we optimize for Mids (T90?) Whip away as needed and make sure Oracle doesn't go later than chop 79, complete on T80.

All the sacrifice ( no whipping, working on sub-optimal tiles, supporting scientists with hunger etc) is for completing COL at T78. 1 worker can chop 1 tree at T77 and the other tree at T78, requiring whipping dun at T76 though. I agree that it might be a bit too costly especially when rice is abandoned for scientist. I still do so because I want to save an opportunity for T79 Oracle-CS in case the team think it's worthy to pay for lowering the risk. I remember someone has confirmed that another team completes Oracle at mid T80s?
Thanks for updating the test game. I did synchronize it at the end of mini turnset but forgot about today's. If anyone needs espionage or demographic screenshot let me know.

We can double chop on T77, whip the Duns T78, and do Oracle on T79.

Kait, it looks like Silver City is one population less than what you PPP says. That means we're not working an extra coastal tile and we're -2:science: from you plan. CoL still comes in 4 turns so maybe it's not critical; it's just something that I noticed. It looks like we can afford to whip the wb in Silver City next turn rather than on T78 per your plan. We don't need that extra commerce to get CoL in time and Whales could use the wb two turns sooner, right?

You played well and as we all agreed, so nothing against your turnset, but I was thinking we actually needed to get a GS from Science so the scientists were OK. Now, I don't like it at all. So if we abandon that and get Science on the Rice, we simply give up T78 chop Oracle and relax all the other restrictions on Cows, Silver, etc. with those tundraFurs.

We can double chop on T77, whip the Duns T78, and do Oracle on T79.

Why do we need to double chop on T77? We only need one worker to do all of the chopping unless I'm missing something. Joan Dark completes chop 1 on T77 and chop 2 on T78. I guess that's too much OF on the Dun so maybe we do the dun whips T76? Or do we want the dun OF to be the last hammers into the Oracle?
