[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

Cows just finished its granary. Kait, did you do the math/test to know if halt growth should be used there? If not, I'll try it both ways when I play through the test game.

Philip:
T82 - Move to tundraforesthill 2N2E of Cow City

Do we really want to chop this forest? It could possibly grow in three directions so we should save that one. What about chopping the forest at Cows-2N instead? Or Cows-3N?

2 cities are building the 'Mids on T84: Clam and Canal. No city is building it on T83. Clam will build the 'Mids on T83 and the wb on T84 instead.

Nope. Avoid growth is -1:food:, -1:hammers:, -1:commerce:. We finished the granary at the ideal time so no need to use this trick.

Good point. Try not to chop it.
After chopping that one:

T87 - Move to forest 3N1E of Cow City

So we could keep similar MM but chop Cow-2N then Cow-3N1E and end up at the same spot. This will be more hammers in Cows though since we're now chopping a BFC forest. That should not affect the turn the Mids are built since we're storing a ton of hammers building Wealth for a few turns while we pile on additional fail gold.

Note that our culture covers those forests before the chops land so we get full credit for them.

Another thing I noticed is that now the deer is connected via roads to both Cows and Science because we rebuilt the pillaged road and then built the road at Cows-S. Are we planning to double pillage roads the next time we do the dun trick? Or are we going to use some other resource next time?

Oops, great catch! :D

We need to ditch the road somehow!

It should be better without the button.

Another good catch! :goodjob:
Yes, Clams should build Pyramids on T83 and Workboat on T84.
I'll fix it now in PPP.

Uhh, let me try and and rework the micro for Phillip and Joan Dark now.
Almost killed our very profitable Deer Road with that road 1S of Cow City. :o

How about Joan Dark rebuilds the road that we had pillaged and Philip goes straight to the forest at Cows-2N and chops that (without building the road at Cows-S). Joan will still follow the PPP but Philip will be 1 turn ahead in his chopping duties which should be no big deal.

Phillip can be 1 turn ahead, but Joan's chop still need to land on T86.
Hmm, I think I see a way that is possible that eliminates the road 1S of Cow City and preserves that forest 2N2E of Cow City, but we will end up with a 500/500 Pyramids I think.

Phillip - (Worker 1S of Cow City)
T80 - Move to forest 1E of Cow City
T81 - Chop forest and STOP!
T82 - Move to forest 2N of Cow City
T83 - T85 Chop forest (3:hammers: are lost due to overflow cap on Lighthouse)
T86 - Move to forest 3N of Cow City
T87 - T88 Chop forest
T89 - Chop forest and STOP!
T90 - T91 Move to forest 3N3W of Cow City
T92 - T94 Chop forest (13:hammers:) into Pyramids

Joan Dark - (Worker on Galley 1N2E of Profit City)
T80 - Sail to 3S1E of Deer and step off galley onto the forest plain hill 2S2E of Deer tile to fix Deer Road
T81 - T82 Road 2S2E of Deer tile
T83 - Chop forest 1S1E of Deer tile and STOP!
T84 - Move to forest 1E of Cow City
T85 - T86 Chop forest 1E of Cow City
T87 - Finish Road 1N of Cow City
T88 - Move to forest 3N1E of Cow City
T89 - T92 Chop forest
T93 - Move to forest 3N of Cow City
T94 - Chop forest to finish Pyramids

That should work. :hmm:

If we're only going to save 1 of the 4 forests north of Cows, it should be Cows-3N since it has 4 re-growth options while all of the others have only 2 or 3. But that's for the next turnset to decide.

Aren't the 3 "lost" :hammers: converted to gold?

I'm fine with the first 5 turns of these worker actions since most of the details will be ironed out by WT in the next turnset.

Do you have access to the test game right now Mitchum?

I'm 95% sure that the new worker micro for Phillip and Joan Dark will get us a 500/500:hammers: pyramids by T95.
Cow City can work the exact same tiles and build order.

Just set the slider to 0% and focus on the 2 workers and Cow City.
World builder in Currency on T92.

Grumble, ok let me look again.

Looks ok. :)

I'll change the original PPP now.
Good luck Mitchum! :king:

Turnset Report (T80 to T82)

Continuing turnset report from here.

T80
Cahokia - 20:hammers: +9
Poverty Point - 37:hammers: +2
Mound City - 10:hammers: +3

Peter: 15:espionage: +5

Land Area: 21K (Rival Worst)

T81
Confucianism has spread in Silver!
Peter's wb comes out of the fog as expected and is at Whales-3W2N.
The chariot finds a straight that he cannot cross. We could camp here and wait for an AI or continue exploring.
Scout unloads on a new land that appears to go south (at least 3 tiles) and west (at least 3 tiles). Based on where I unloaded, I'm considering having the galley loop around to the north and head west and the scout to head south because the scout won't have to slowly move through a bunch of forests. Our goal is to find Peter's city ASAP, right?

Cahokia - 3 pops - 29:hammers: +9
Poverty Point - 4 pops - 39:hammers: +2
Mound City - 2 pops - 14:hammers: +4

Peter: 20:espionage: +5

Land Area: 21K (Rival Worst)

T82
Dang, it looks like Peter's wb is taking the northern route. He's now at Whales-NW.

Cahokia - 3 pops - 38:hammers: +9
Poverty Point - 4 pops - done, finished something worth between 40 and 41:hammers:
Mound City - 2 pops - 18:hammers: +4

Peter: 25:espionage: +5

Land Area: 21K (Rival Worst)
