[BTS] SGOTM 26 - Home Slices

I assume that Cat 3 (14/2 EXP) will take over on SB's last scout instead of Cat 4 (9/2 EXP), right? Or do we just send the 14/2 EXP cat to the HRE war as is? Is it possible to hit the one scout twice in one turn with two different cats?

Sid keeps assigning Engineers in Science and Whales and Spies in Canal. Be careful.

Do we want to work hammer tiles in cities like Cows and Clams to speed up the Observatory? Or should we not work those 0F tiles and instead work Scientists (Cows) or 2F tiles (Clams)? It looks like we can easily pull in Physics to 5 turns if we work Scientists or coastal tiles.

I think we should take the 100 gold Louis has on the table. Sell him PP which could lead to more gold (or gpt) on the table later in the game???

Minor MM things I'd probably do

Canal, I'd work +19 food to grow this turn (then MM next turn for some other benefit)
Silver: work Engineer instead of Fur, work merchants instead of coast because 100% :gold: Add a merchant every turn.
Science: Stick with the cottages, but then all sci
Clams: work 1 merchant and next turn add 1 more. T179 add oilWorkshop, then work +1 workshop per turn, but don't waste time with the mine. Two merch gets us 10gpt now, and for the next 20 turns (200:gold:) then we lose that cus WallSt. is a few turns later. So we come out even but front-load our cash. Later we will find other ways.
See next post for Clams

Whales
: no engineer. We're giving up 5bpt for 4 turns (20:science) to get +10 from observatory 1 turn sooner.
Cows: do the temple and OF that into observatory. Then IW.

Actually, let's get extra HE gold in
ClamsCity
T177 if you work Clam Clam, merch, merch this turn it's ~199/200 HE (careful!)
178+ Permanently keep at least 1 merchant : Wall st. I think it's still done ~T200.
179 add oilworkshop
180+ add workshop

When are we going to cash in Heroic Epic?

It looks like we will be completely broke on T181, so I think that means we need Temple in Silver City on T179 and Heroic Epic in Silver City on T180 right?
Spoiler :
Carefully :whew: adding :hammers: into Heroic Epic in Clam City on T177 and in Whale City on T178 and T179 sounds good.

We just have to make sure to only complete Heroic Epic in Silver City or it is game over.

The 14 xp Cat should definitely go to the front.
It will have 4 promotions, so it can do City Raider III and Accuracy and do a lot of damage to cities.

Peter needs 6 turns to corporation. Bismark needs 9 turns to rep-parts.
Physics 4 turns left. 520g-132gpt/815bpt

T179
Peter has no cash no gpt...5 turns to corporation.
Bis need 8. Bribe Bis into caste system+20g

SB's trireme is spotted 2W1N of Cahokia.
Spoiler :
Civ4ScreenShot0015.JPG

pause the game for a short break
Maybe I can cancel one seafood deal to Peter and sell 1 seafood to Saladin?

No trade deal this turn.

T180
Prague captured by Bismark. A great scientist is born in Russia.
galleon with 2 muskets 1 chariot heading towards Prague to see if there are any improvements covered by HRE culture
SB's trireme didn't attack our caravel. 1 SB's longbow is spotted on his silk.
Peter 4 turns to corporation, Bis 8t to rep-parts.
Bismark stops putting ep on us. I stop too.

T181
drop 2 muskets 1 chariot near Prague. shouldn't have placed them on 2 different tiles..Bismark has 2 wheats in trade list.
Charle sent 1 axe 1 swordman trying to take back Prague. Bis has 2 maceman 1 crossbow 1 treb 1 catapult in Prague. Aachen has 2 longbow 1 trireme 1 galley 1 xman. 100% city defense.
Peter has 220 g for trade, 3 turns from corporation:lol:
empire has 121g-124 gpt, physics 1 turn.
2nd exec in Hamburg. can spread sushi this turn
....spread sushi in the wrong city...he should have walked to Mecca....
both SB's units out of vision

*wheat to Saladin for 5gpt, silver to Bismark for wheat
corporation to Peter for 220g +map

After getting Peter's map, we know Peter has not expanded to his whale city. Now he has 1 gpt. Perhaps renegotiate the whale deal will cause the extra gpt to disappear.

Mecca has 97h. Paris has 95h.

T182
Peter picks communism. 16T
Didn't lose a unit in HRE. Charle's xman and swordman disappeared. A great general born in Aachen.

Yes. Try this...
Cancel whale deal.
Trade Corp for 100+ gold if available

Optionally...
re-do whale deal.
or, we could cancel 1 more seafood and save $ on corps (but do the cash trade first!!)

Let's pause to discuss.

I guess there is no rush to try this, this turn. We could just see if we can naturally get his $$ for a couple turns.

Peter picking Physics next is a million miles from guaranteed. There’s massive randomness built into AI tech choice. What we want is Peter picking as often as possible till he picks Communism. If he picks Physics, we trade it to him when we get it and he picks again. That’s two picks. 2>1

What about marble to Sal after HE? Are we gonna finish HE 180? 181? 182? Do we need marble after that?
Our capital can use marble to put hammers into Sistine, Hagia, or Taj if we suspect one of the AI is building it.

I think we should sell clam to Arabs for 5:gold: per turn and cancel a seafood from Peter (the Whale I think) and lose 1:food: per turn in all cities.

We don't have anything to give us :gold: reliably after cashing in Heroic Epic except beating up Charlemagne.
Building West Point in multiple cities won't cash out for a long time.
