[BTS] SGOTM 26 - The Indecisive

I didn't think about maintenance in this game. Versailles is not an option. Forbidden palace can be built since there doesn't seem to be a limitation of national wonders. I assume the palace can't be rebuilt. We may end up with most of cities far from Settler1s site. It's just something to keep in mind.
 
I would still move S3 SW onto deer hill to check south of the crabs before thinking about where to settle S1.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed that at the moment we have only a couple of 4F tiles (sheep and clam) which is going to make it slightly challenging to run specialists for GP production.

Something that's worth noting is that we're paying 1gpt unit maintenance for 0-1 cities and 0 unit maintenance for 2 cities, given that the second city gets I commerce from the city square and adds 2 to city maintenance the second city is effectively free.

I will have meeting all day this and last week. I have not had time to really get into the game. I'm really sorry.

I find it weird how days just run past you when you stay at home all the time. I had no idea I had not posted for seven days.
 
No problem. Even in the middle of a global pandemic Real Life still gets in the way of Civ.

Settlers 1,6 n 7 unmoved.

No seafood south of crabs.

Settler 5 (SE>SE) has discovered clams and more land to explore.

Some thoughts:
According to shulec's earlier suggestion, we could move S7 1N then maybe 1E, unless it uncovers an unlikely scenario of seafood bonanza to settle there on t0.
I would SIP S1 on t0 and start with WB.
About S6, I am not too excited about settling it this turn. I think it can move NE-E towards the fresh water lake 1NE of the rice. There we can get a 2 tile range view across the water and still come back to settle the next turn if we want.

Whichever city we settle first will of course become capital with 2 cpt for a border pop, any other cities would have to wait for mystic monuments (or religions or libraries which are even further away). Given that S1 and S6 both need border pops if they settle in place we have a bit of a dilemma.

In the longer term we also need to consider distance maintenance, given its likely that we'll be settling more cities to the east than to the west we'd save cash by having S6 as capital.

If S6 finds resources for a possible eastern city, then we should discuss delay settling S1
