SGOTM 9 Maintenance Thread

@DBear: Thanks, we are aware.

What do the teams feel about spoilers for this game? How about one at the end of the Middle Ages, as it'll finish in the Modern era?

end of MA is fine with me. Most of the strategy will be set in stone by then prolly. So therefore spoilers wouldn't alter (too much) any teams plans.

Thanks, I'm relieved to hear it, because I've just posted the spoiler thread :)

We have decided to make a small adjustment to all your saves to allow India to build the Apollo Project while mobilised. This will relieve you of the extra challenge of getting or keeping India out of mobilisation for long enough to achieve this.

In order to do this I shall need each team leader to PM me when I can download and edit your save in between turn sets. Please do so as soon as possible to fit your playing schedule.

I then hope to edit the save within 24 hours, and notify you in your team thread that you can continue. It will be your responsibility to ensure that you pause until you hear from me, and then play on with the modified save.

I hope this is clear. I'm sure you'll let me know if not

You will also allow them to build space parts while being mobilised or is this left as extra challenge?

(not that I don't trust you to take care of that issue but to prevent others from asking stupid questions like this  )

Edit: Oh well, I should pay more attention. Sorry, disregard this.

Just a question, if no one can coax Gandhi to launch, what's the tie breaker?

most Chuck Norris facts posted in the threads?

I was thinking about total weight of the team members

Yeah! If no one persuades Gandhi to launch then most spaceship progress at 2050 AD wins, starting at Apollo. If there's a tie on parts then the breaker will be the number of beakers in India's kitty. If they haven't even started Apollo then the we count total Indian research.

No offense to your solutions boys, but Chuck Norris sounds better to me. Not that I'd know of a thread with already many of those :mischief:

I don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting Mr Norris, on film or in the flesh. What do you think he'd bring to this party, exactly?

Chuck Norris is the only human being to display the Heisenberg uncertainty principle -- you can never know both exactly where and how quickly he will roundhouse-kick you in the face.
That sounds like super-interstellar-spaceship-related modern physics to me. This is one such fact among many others I must add.

Total weight of team members? Okay. I'll go with that idea.

Nah, teams have different numbers of members. I say we go with the weight of one designated team member. The question is, do we go with weight on earth or weight somewhere else, since it's an SS game.

Shouldn't matter, I think if we can't get India to space we should resort to building our own SS and giving Gandhi a couple of rooms on it.

Weight is merely the product of mass and gravity. So to make it simple, just pick the team-mate with the greatest mass.
