SGOTM6 - Xteam

Wow.

On another note, Ii didn't realise it, but we've crossed barbslinger.

Yup! 40 posts ago. The post count obviously has you beat as well  What happened to 'nyo'?

I've been too sucked into Forum maintainence on other forums lately, *restrains*.

I got a few complaints about the "nyo", so I stopped doing it, *restrains*.

Don't forget that Bede took a team of inexperienced players, but that's still harsh. I finished my R&L03 turns and will be back to our game shortly.

It looks like they are getting up to a seriously high cpt now, though, so they should be able to overhaul the AI. But the maintenance costs must be painful. They've already spent twice what we've spent so far.

EDIT Although they have had lots more turns to earn it.

PS. Just noticed the following spare locations:

Just confirmed that I placed Yalaha on the second spot, but the first is still open and won't hinder the food in our draft city.

1340AD continued

The jungle is making it hard to get settlers to new sites

founded: Alan's Spot (guess where?)

rushed temples: Alan's Spot

rushed libraries: Ironclad Encounters / Intel / Mountain Pass / Not So Sandy Beach / Crowding carthage [5]

rushed Cathedrals: Approaching the Thames / Brazen Land Grab / Erosion / Food from Tundra / New ratae Coritanorum3 / Part of the Problem / Shepherd's View / Water Everywhere / Wheat Rustlers / Wines and Elephants / Tomoyos Place / Thirsty Hordes / Snow Angel / Partial / Panama Lite / Extra Virgin [16]

2 rifles got detoured off our roads when they ran across a VIK unit on our rails in Old France, stupid game moved them off road instead of looping around the lake, so I used a cav to rush the Cath in New Ratae Cort3

Also had to start culture rushing in size 2 cities which requires 3 rifles instead of 2

Still managed 65 increase
Saved game and checked happiness again

Military at end of turn: 6 settlers (almost all still moving thru jungle), 3 explorers, 4 rifles (2 on a mountain), 21 cavs and 1 cannon

Shut down game before rolling over to next turn

We only need 57 a turn for the next 3 to coast to a 1385 finish.

I should be able to play one more turn tomorrow night and then I'll pass it off to Gyathaar for the last 2 real turns and then the wrap up.

It'll be 9 instead of 10 turns, but that will let Gyathaar have a little fun. He started us on our path and he will bring us home.

@Gyathaar - can you load Excel worksheets? I've been using Excel to keep track of the builds off the list Alan pulled from the save. I've been adding the new cities to it as well.

IBT - BAB & CART sign peace treaty / our ivory for 4gpt from FRA deal ends, can't renew

Turn 259 - 1345AD
75498 culture, 2915 cpt, a 65 cpt increase
treasury 3247, at -375gpt
draft 29 rifles

Military at start: 7 settlers, 48 explorers, 33 rifles, 21 cavs, & 12 cannons

Found: Mordor / Desert Edge / Babwatch /
Babwatch is not connected by road but will be next turn (same road will connect up a settler that is ready to found a city) but explorers can reach it this turn
other three settlers are moving to open spots

rushed temples: Mordor / Desert Edge / Babwatch [3]

rushed libraries: Lookout Point / Squeezeville / Wool Envy / Over the Hill / Horse Thieves / Raisin Plantation [6]

rushed cathedral: Bovine View / Deforestation / End of Rainbow / Mountain Hideaway / New Ageincum2 / On the Rocks / Rocky Lake / Squeeze 'em in / Smith's Haven / This Land is your Land / Not Mine Either / Let's Get Along / Blue Ice [13]

misclicked  and accidentally moved 8 galleons that were at my midpoint for ship chaining - Sorry about that, luckily 3 of them only had 1 mp left so they might be able to be used next turn /

I've repositioned 4 galleons back at the midpoint so no real damage done by the misclick

Cycled thru all size 2 cities, nothing else to build this turn - I have several size 2 cities that are about to grow to size 3 so I'll wait for the growth (11 next turn, 8 more the following turn)

Added 63 cpt and at -379 gpt

Notes:
1) there is a settler waiting for an IND worker to move between Jungle Paradise and Mordor
2) If we add 60 cpt in 1350, then we only need 13 a turn for the rest of the game
3) I've set all cities to wealth except for the ones which are rushing the mobile shields for next turn, you may want to adjust the ones that are about to grow if you want more shields for 1355AD, otherwise you can just use the drafted rifles to finish it out
4) we should hit 3000 cpt next after next turns rushes, and we're only a few settlers short of 400 cities

Here is the To Build list

I'm uploading to the server - this is a handoff

Bring us home Gyathaar :king:

Yay! Good job, Gator! We've crossed Ivan's graph and look ready to take on tao, Smackster, and Peanut!

Go, Gyathaar! :) Take us to 100k! (And pray the AI don't attack!)

Edit: 12,435 page views at 9:37 EST. I wonder what it will be tomorrow morning...

Excellent Job Gator!! :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

I think we are even a little steeper than Offa, just a few centuries late! The lines are almost parallel though.

Good luck Gyathaar, we're on the home stretch!! :D

Well played Gator. That puts us in great shape for a storming finish :goodjob: Oops! Shouldn't say 'storm'

The final roster:

DJMGator13 - Just played a marathon
Gyathaar UP
......
WillowBrook , leif, Tomoyo, AlanH - off duty, keeping score on culture and posts, waiting for the [EDIT].....

Big Bang in the Restaurant at the End of the Universe
[party]  :bounce:

[/EDIT]

My marathon sessions aren't over for the week, I need to start COTM11 tonight. Alan, I see the GOTM site says submit by May 1, does that mean 4/30 is the last day to submit or do I get Sunday as well?

Closing time is actually midnight on the 1st May east of the International Date Line. That's about midday GMT, or something like 07:00 EST, on 2nd May. The submissions page tells you how many days and hours there are left to the deadline. At the time of this post is says 5 days 23 hours.
