So we get a war with Greece due to my dealing with England, and the Greeks aren't even faithful to there ally.azzaman333 said:got it. damn this is gonna be hard for me, cause i have problems with warring. i hope i dont let you down.

The single scientist move is strictly a cash saving play, and to do it in an optional tech is not a sound move IMHO. We have two things working against us, a lack of infrastructure (markets) and a large and outdated (costly) military.
It appears that Greece lacks salt, so cavalry against hoplites should really be no contest. We can try and grind our way through the rest of the continent in one shot, but we're going to likely fall farther behind in tech, which is not a good thing. My suggestion would be to bulldoze about three Greek towns, and make peace, then crank infrastructure. We can then make a final push to easily clear Alex from the mainland with cav once we acquire MT.
If by that time he has rifles, he still won't be able to build that many to defend with.
You're obviously correct M60. Min research on an optional tech is just plain foolish. I guess I'm grasping a bit as our situation is getting a bit precarious. I have no doubt we can claim our lands, but our infrastructure is so backwards and we are seriously losing in the tech race. We've been spitting out troops, but that's having a devastating effect on our economy now and making us unable to trade up at all.
