Congrats guys! I've been reading your thread with interest (as Niklas already spied 
) hoping some disaster would strike and prevent what was obviously going to be a better finish date than ours. Alas, it was not meant to be! Very impressive game.

I didn't see it while we were at it, it felt like we were in a close race with the Xteam and all. But really, while we marvel that team Klarius finished a whole 22 turns ahead of us, we actually finished 27 turns ahead of the next PTW/Classic team (assuming Xteam won't beat you taoists, which it seems they won't).

SGOTM9 info is posted but the thread hasn't been opened yet. It looks like another really fun one 
I propose that we not discuss any strategies yet. I already have some ideas about the new one and I don't want other teams to borrow any. Sure, my ideas might be completely useless... or even dangerous

What will our team name be this time around? Sticking with Durkz seems a bit odd, and I don't want to hear anyone suggest Team Niklas even though I'll be playing team whipper. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Thanks to all lurkers for the congrats! I still cannot believe we did it.
Special thanks to Gyathaar and AlanH for creating and organizing the game! It was real fun to play with those IA units for a change. I don't think I ever used choppers before - and bombers maybe once...
Now I am off to read how teams Klarius and Wacken got to be so much faster than us.
It seems the smiley animation has been turned off as well
. The forum is slowly descending to the computer stone age . I wonder what's next - no more adds?

Btw, I noted Randy wants to play SGOTM9, and lists himself as a PTW player. He's a really good player, has a gold medal from GOTM (46 iirc), so he'd make a great replacement for our only previous gold medallist Durkz. What do you say team, should we officially invite him in? Chances are he'll be assigned to our team in any case, the Peanut PTW team seems rather solid...
Hmm, just remembered, we should write a final spoiler as well. WarDance, do you want the honors again? Or is anyone else really keen on doing it? I won't have the time at least. 
So, about that name. I'm taking this very seriously, I won't go play under just any flag. We need a name that truly signals who we really are.
So far we have two suggestions:
Team Interpol is fine as a name, but doesn't really speak to me. How is that us? I won't object if we choose to go with it though.
My own thoughts:
Since we won this round, and thus have a reputation to keep, I was actually thinking about suggesting we stick to Team Durkz, after all the word has a telltale meaning even without the figure-head himself, and that's how we're known already. I'm not sure though, it would probably be frowned upon to use the name of someone else, even if it was a previous member...
Another idea I had was Team FormerlyKnownAsDurkz (aka Team FKAD), but I don't think anyone would use the long version, and no one will get the back reference from the short one.
Hmm, I just had a thought while writing this. Don't know if I dare suggest it though... how about... Team Jerkz?
No one could miss the back-reference, and the name certainly has an interesting meaning...

Once we have all candidates, I'll call the vote. Rank the candidates in order of preference, best first. The name with the fewest rank points wins.
So far we have two suggestions:
- Team Trim That Beard (or Team BeardTrimmer(s))
- Team Interpol

lurker's comment: There would be no problem with continuing with Team Durkz as far as I'm concerned, but the owner of that nickname should give his consent. You never know - he might return to his eponymous team one day

That would be fine, except that we can't really reach him for a comment. He left without a word, and there's no telling when/if he will be back, so getting his consent will be rather tricky. If he does come back though, I'm sure he will be welcome back to the team under any name.
The fact that you mention Jerkz makes me wonder if there's anything wrong with the other two alternatives listed?
