Don't get infected by my miscalculation virus, Leif - as 1000BC is turn 80, it's still 27 turns to go.
   You're right, of course. :D
You've got me laughing so hard and so confused that I can't think straight.

How did you ever get to 23 turns when you meant to do 10? :D

Hm, did this thread just die or is it just the usual XTeam weekend inactivity kicking in? :p

I know from experience spamming that great spammers are the ones who spam at work/school, with some exceptions (well, the only exceptions would be depressed people with no life).

However, that pertains to a different method of spam (generally with one smilie posts) and might not apply.

I've got it. I'll play 7 to put us back on schedule.

I've also had terrible internet connection recently. I'm using a new cable modem and I still have trouble getting a good signal.

I was wondering why you'd been so quiet. :D

Good luck Gator!!

:coffee: :wavey:
The weekend is over, time to grab some :coffee: and start spamming.

Eh, start working that is.
Yes, work... ;)

Hi Capt.,

Been awful quiet around here. Willow will be back on Thursday, perhaps that will liven things up a bit! :D

Go Gator!!

I've not been following along very closely but do you know if there is someone inhabiting the pc of land to the west with the horses on it? Have you seen anyone over there? I'd imagine if you've not seen someone you sould fairly soon. If they do are you gonna try and put cultural pressure on?

Hi Everyone! :wavey:

Just read through to this point, and looks like fun!

I'll have no access to a computer with Civ on it until Friday, but I'll have no trouble playing after that. I've been relaxing in the Pacific northwest, and now I'm at friends' place in Oregon. I'll check back at least one more time before Friday.

Now is there anything I should comment on? (As I've read the thread, I've been distracted by Blue's Clues....a favorite show of the daughter of my friends.) Looks like techs, luxes, contacts, resources, city placement, all being discussed.

Well, hopefully I can be more helpful later.... :)

:wavey: Hi Willow,

Sounds like the traveling has been relaxing!

We know you can be helpful. Looking forward to your return!

Safe travels home and see you Friday...

Haven't seen anyone afaik. I think the plan might be to declare on them and try to get the city in a peace deal, especially if it is built later and is smaller than the others. Who knows, Greece or China could get it as well, once they have Map Making. Unless the land mass runs around the western side continuously. :cringe:

How are the Hall of Fame challenges going? Need to check them out again, looked like fun! :goodjob:

"Soldiering, my dear madam, is the coward's art of attacking mercilessly when you are strong, and keeping out of harm's way when you are weak. That is the whole secret of successful fighting. Get your enemy at a disadvantage; and never, on any account, fight him on equal terms."

Great quote for you. I thought it really struck home for Civ'ing

The HoF "gauntlet" is kinda interesting. It started out as me challenging Denniz to a quick domination game as he and I went back and forth on Chieftan Domination games.

It turned into a monthly and bi-monthly event. It has really spurred on discussion and interest in the HoF so it's a good thing.

On the flip side I'm having a devil of a time getting a pre 1000BC tiny Emp Dom submission. As we speak I have Map Finder running at home looking for the perfect map :D

Waddya think of the new avatar?

It pretty  The smile makes me think you've just completed a pre-3000 BC Conquest victory!

Thanks for the quote as well. It is very true, especially in Civ! ;)

On another note, :bday: to AlanH! :band:
And, of course

Thanks for your good wishes, and for the party, leif.

Have you guys given up? A whole page of pure spam

Your welcome. Hope it is a Happy Day of driving the Jag and feeling the wind blow through your hair! :D

Us, Give Up?? Why, we haven't even started yet! We're just waiting for Willow to come back from vacation. ;)

Then we'll really get

I've been off line since my last post. I finally had to get the cable company out to check out my line. The signal was so bad they installed a new line from the box to my house.

I'll catchup on the reading and play tonight.

sending other Rwarrior by Atlanta towards the SE to help protect from the Bcamp down there
other warriors in scout mode
mt worker starts roading mt

NY & Washington are about to riot, so I poprush the settler in NY (back to worker duty after this settler) & hire a scientist

IBT - Grk settler pair N out of sight
Washington settler => settler

Turn 60 - 1500BC
Washington is now size 5 and at +5fpt & +6spt it should be able to run as a 4 turn factory now with shields of 6/8/7/9 with growth
southern warriors did not attack Bcamp since it would be rWarrior vrs cWarrior on a mountain and only one could attack
warriors scouting
Lux back to 20% (after settler popped) sci at 80% for LIT in 8 turns at -1gpt

Notes for next player
1) Washington should be 4 turn settler factory running from size 5 to 7
2) I'd wait for both warrior to be in position before attacking the Bcamp, it would be nice to get rid of that one and claim the gems with a colony
3) I left the settler in Washington unmoved wasn't sure which direction we want to go with him. Do we want Site5 or start him northward towards the dyes

The save

Firaxis 173 / Jason 111

Here's a look at our core and the new land towards our east.
