He hasnt said exactly why yet, but hes done it. And the owner, Mitch Kupcheck, said he wouldnt like to do it but he would do it if Shaq requested it, and he has.

In other NBA News:

- Phil Jackson has officially left his job as the Lakers head coach
- Kobe Bryant has decided to opt out of his contract and test the free agent waters

- Tracy McGrady has told the Magic that he would like to be traded.

So next year the Lakers will have neither Shaq, Kobe, or Phil Jackson?

 nice. Time for the Pistons to start a dynasty.

You can bet the Lakers will throw the farm at Kobe if Shaq is traded. They will not let both of them go.

the lakers are breaking up?? YES!!!
All we need know is for the Yankees to fold up, and all will be will again with American Sports

You know as long as Steinbrenner is alive that that isnt happening, they could just literally go out and buy another top 5 team :p

forgive my ignorance, he is really the president of the Yankees? thought it was only in Seinfeld  what did he say to the show?

LOL, I dont think he minded. He loves attention and himself.

I cant blame the guy for trying to improve his team, although I dont like the methods.

Jackson is going, so Shaq is going..

best thing--a kobe/shaq team with no help was going nowhere. orlando has offered j. howard, g. hill and the # 1 pick already. indiania and dallas have offers too

n.1 pick at the draft?..they are nuts..

macgrady is leaving--but if shaq comes he stays--and a team that missed the playoffs moves up several notches, drawns fans,ect.....

mcgrady and shaq is better than Kobe and Shaq, considering Mcgrady isnt nearly as selfish.

And where are you hearing the trade offer rumors? I wanna hear em too :p

Shaq can't go to Orlando. Magic would have trouble piece together a 8-man roster next year. But Tracy announce the same thing on the same day does smell fishy.

I still think Tracy come to Houston though. :) for some non-self-interest reasons.

Look at Dallas.

1. They have a deep talent pool and would be willing to part with anyone but Nowitzki, and even he might be expendable if the amount is right.

2. Mark Cuban. Hes not afraid to pull the trigger on a huge deal, and loves only to see his team succeed. Hes not stupid either.

Thats why Im picking Dallas in the Shaq trade, but they may decide that despite the fact that Dallas has the most to give, they dont want Shaq in the West.

And McGrady might come to Houston, there have been rumors. Its definately in his top 3 choices.

any trade will most likely have to be a 3 team deal to make the money come out right

As long as Shaq doesn't end up with an Eastern powerhouse, I'm happy.

well i think the lakers would rather send him east ,then keep him in conference

I'm thinking Dallas, too. They have many high-caliber players to offer, and they could desperately use Shaq's defensive skills, and it gives them a powerful inside man. I think they should trade Walker and Nowitzki, and however many picks it takes. Walker is useless, I hate him. Jamison should have been the starter last year.

Remember, Shaq still owns a home in Orlando. Also, I thought Florida had no income tax? Sounds like a nice place to live if you're pulling down a couple mil a year
Dallas and Indina sound like likely choices. Sacramento, Orlando, NY and Phoniex will likely make plays too, although they arent as likely.
Id of course love to see Shaq in Cleveland with Lebron, but the cavs dont have the dough
