Shaq requests trade from LA Lakers

Sacramento? Never, the Lakers would never give Shaq to thier archnemesis.

Orlando doesnt have enough to give.

It's a shame the Spurs don't have the assets to trade for Shaq, 'cause I'd love to see Shaq play alongside Tim Duncan.
Considering the Lakers probably won't trade Shaq to a Western conference team, I will probably be dissappointed... ;)

Why would the Spurs need Shaq? They already have one of the leagues best post players in Duncan.

What they need is a better scorer like Kenyon Martin, or even if they could somehow manage it, Kobe Bryant.

Remember, they were extremely close to getting Jason Kidd. They have some cash to spend.

yeah, the spurs dont really need Shaq, unless they wanted him to play power forward.
That would be daunting to face...
Orlando has teh number 1 pick in the draft, which would really help the lakers...but thats about it.
I think LA Needs to accept that it isnt going to win it all next year, and deal for whoever can give them the best young talent...come back in 3 years, with a more mature kobe (providing he isnt in jail), and take back the NBA.
If the kings can offer a good deal (which I think they really can, LA would be stupid not to take it.
The only teams in the east that have a shot are Indina and New York.

Shaq would make the Bobcats a force early. They could also trade the #4
pick for him. Since none of the first 5 or 6 are that much better than the
others, it would be just as good as say getting the #1 from Magic. I just
don't know if that is the direction the Bobcats want to take, they may want
to start young and grow together.

I was actually kiding. The Bobcats have no money, and no marketable talent right now. Every Expansion team will want at least one big name player..but SHaq? not gonna happen.

it'd make me laugh tho

how bout shaq for iverson? :crazyeye:

it would never happen but all they talk about in philly/south jersey is how or when AI will get traded. that little dude has a ton of heart.

not sure if anyone knows this or even cares but the steinbrenner character on seinfeld is played by Larry David (seinfeld creator and of hbo fame)

the lakers have announce that they are NOT trading shaq, so is kobe gone?

In Toronto, they're talking (at least, the few people who care, I'll try to find the article) about Vinsanity for A.I.... can't imagine Iverson moving to Canada. It would be a good move for the Raptors and a dreadful one for the Sixers...

The Lakers still intend on trading Shaq if thier are offers....I dont know where your hearing that the deal is off.

I heard from espn that the shaq trade was odd, now back on.
Shaq wants to go to Dallas
Dallas wants Shaq to go to Dallas
LA wants Dirk, or Shaq doesnt go to Dallas
Dallas says, no thank you, we'd rather send Steve Nash and some other players for Shaq
The Clippers want to be a player in a three team deal to make the salaries line up
...
the saga goes on

Nowitzki for Shaq?!?! As a Dallas' fan: NO THANKS!

I think Dallas has said they would not go for that and I don't blame them.

I heard a rumor of Webber & Stoy. for Shack  , what do you guys
think?

Man, i like Webber, I really do. But hes choked so many times in important situations (time out debacle, missing the free throws in Game 7 against the Lakers, in and out 3 against T'Wolves this year). Why would the Lakers want him?

Stojakovic on the other hand....he was 4th I think in MVP voting, a very good shooter, and about 26 I think. Hes worth something.

But like I said, the Lakers wont trade Shaq to the Kings.

No, that would be a bad move for the Raptors

The Raptors most important goal for next season is to develop Chris Bosh's inside game, and that is definately not a possibility with a notorious ball-hog like Iverson demanding the ball all the time.

AI's a great player, but to win championships (which, I imagine, is the Raptors ultimate goal ;) ) you need a talented/dominant big man and Bosh can be that man for the Raptors. He just needs playing time and the ball in his hands, and the second part is more likely with Carter as a teammate as opposed to Iverson...

I feel like going to Dallas is just about the same as going to Sac. Both West!

The time out debacle was one of my favorite college basketball moments :D
 of all time. I will never forget the look on his face afterwards :twitch: :wow: :shakehead , plus I was pulling so hard for UNC.

Other Shaq Rumors...
NJ-Keyon Martan, Kittles, cash-Shaq

Indina- Al Harington, draft pick, other player I cant remember,-Shaq

Cleveland (???)-Boozer, 10th pick in the draft, Williams-Shaq (hahaha, like this would happen)

I hope Dallas doesnt trade Dirk, he's one of my favorite players. CUban is a smart man...if there is a trade to be made here...he can get it done.

If NJ gets Shaq and keeps Kidd, they might be the new team to beat

If I were LA I would trade Shaq for Dirk in a second, it could make it easier to resign Kobe and you would only be a piece or a bench away from being a championship caliber team. For the life of me though I can't understand why Dallas would want to do the deal though, Dirk hasn't reached his prime yet while Shaq only has a few more years left. You would have to be confident that Shaq could get you the title this year or next and I don't think that is the case. He is an old 32. I see him playing in the east, most blockbuster trades are between conferences these days.
