You may notice that your borders are not moving all that much.. This is because borders will only move if you annex a territory or make a treaty with a second party that sets the borders (as we have seen with the Treaty of Avoz)
Sure thing.... Gelion have a look at what the other people are doing and take their lead... Either that or there are much more influential nations available.
The King's Thoughts
King Henry couldn't sleep tonight. News with many happenings throughout the world had greatly disturbed him. The most disturbing news was the Spanish-French war. The inclusion of more countries in this war had begun to weaken England's position as a trading power. Merchants from Scandanavia feared the voyage to English ports as Scottish and French warships patrolled the sea lanes. The locking down of the English channel had secured many of Englands ports however but Englands major traders were not accross the English channel. Englands trade had been damaged by this war even though she was not a participant.
The King sighed and continued on with his thoughts.
Perhaps the time had come for England to enter the war. The inclusion of England would definately tip the balance of the war in favour of whoever England aligned with and much could be gained from an English victory in this war but now the King would need to decide what side to choose from. The French had initiated this war and in doing so damaged trade throughout the region. If the French take a victory from this war than their strength could become unmatchable. Perhaps they would soon eye off England for new territory. However Scotlands swift entry into the war was also very worrisome. Scotland was the only nation to share a direct border with England proper and their quick entry on the side of Spain showed that they were more than willing to war for possible gains.
It was clear to King Henry that this decision must not be taken lightly. The winning side in this war has the chance to gain considerably. The King decided to leave his decision for now until he could speak with his most trusted advisors. Once all possibilities could be accounted for then war could be had.
The Kings next thoughts moved away from the situation of Europe and to that of the situation in England's colonies in the New World.
Englands colonies had grown considerably in recent years both in size and population. Colonists from England eager at the prospect of vast tracts of land flowed to the colonies. Slaves bought from Scotland were also being sent to the colonies. The colonies farms prospered and farmers had begun in some regions to grow tobacco of which had not been grown in England. English traders were all to keen to deal with new goods and tobacco had begun to profit some of the New World colonists. Henrytown had also continued to expand in New England. A small port had begun construction in Henrytown to help with the continued growth in goods being moved between the colonies and England.
One problem had begun to arise from the New World. The natives of the region had begun to grow restless against the colonists. The English army in the New World was the largest out of all European powers and more than a match for what the primitive natives could deploy. As Englands colonial fronteers expanded her armies moved with them. Some of the natives would happily trade with the colonists. Expanding English knowledge of local crops and goods of the region however most tribes would resist and raid farms and villages. King Henry decided that with the growing size of the colonies that the defense of the colonies must grow with it. More troops would be sent from England to help secure New England and New York from native violence. More money and gifts will also be sent to the colonies to help bribe some of the native tribes to become more friendly towards Englands colonists. King Henry was sure that these measures would allow Englands colonies to continue to prosper for the time being.
We announce our withdrawal from the Franco-Spanish war, we sent our forces to the Netherlands to repulse the French invasion, this has been accomplished and the Netherlands borders are now secured.
OOC: I think it's a pity you stopped The Great War as it was very relaxed little sort-of-NES. I still have to write the final edition of the Graceland Herald
