Every part of the AI will be moddable, like it was in Civ4.

Once again, people should know if they weren't busy crying here.

Oh yeah it does. So what ? They can bore me to death but I'm not allowed to complain ? Oh yes, I can.

There is a difference between complaining and instigating/inciting/flaming. You're 35, remember? You should know the difference.

You have the ability to report posts, just like everyone else. Feel free to use it.

I perfectly know the difference. Provocation is sometimes good, it makes people react more, look at your post.

Being a sheep is what kills us. Watching the endless stream of stupid rants killing the board without reacting is not a smart decision.

I'm 35 and I know when I see a great game. I played video games from the start.

Civ 5 is a great game.

Constructive criticism is okay.

Constant rants and chidish trolling is not though. It made interesting people leave those boards. Heck I hardly come here now either, because all you see is kids crying everywhere.

Let's discuss strategy, mods, whatever. People who prefer Civ 4 well... so what ? Do they want some kind of medal or recognition ?

It's a Civ 5 forum, let's stop crying and talk about Civ 5.

We can change nearly everything anyway, including the AI, so why don't those people use their hands and brain and change something instead of crying constantly ?

This.

Can't believe so many "Yes" votes. No wonder the world is such a mess.

@zonk : yeah and this one is "Civ5 - General Discussions", not "Civ 4 vs Civ 5 discussions" or "Civ 5 rants" or "Civ 5 killed my dog".

We got their point now, they prefer Civ 4, it's okay.

Let's talk about the game.

Just by a small acident, have you considered that , given the time that already passed since the game come out, that the persons that really prefer civ IV are not already back to it? Like , for example, madscientist ? And that those persons are not posting here ? ;)

The people that are in this forum, for good or worse, in their big majority, are persons that want to like htis game. this doesn't mean that they like the game as it is , but the persons that already gave up ( or that ,atleast , are waiting for a big overhaul patch before picking it up again ) of it are not here ranting ;)

So you are complaing about people asking for attention because you want attention to yourself and to your posts?

Crying about others complaining doesn't make you provocative and thoughtful poster BTW.

It's always better try to Create something well written and useful to other on your own like you could try to do instead of complaing posting of others.

Some people think that this board is about the game, positive, neutral or negative commentary, all aspects of it included and not about what other posters post and do you like hearing them or not.

Because they're not. If I've learned anything about fanbases and PC gamers in particular, they would rather complain about one game then play the "better" one.

"Whine"? Civfanatics is a fans forum. It's the fans who pay 2K's bills and the salaries and fat pensions of their senior management. If they buy the game and don't like it, they are entitled to complain.

That is a pretty funny thing to say, after quoting me giving a example of a person that did the exact oposite ;)

i dont' suppport any Civ IV.5

But i can say that, as a game itself, Civ V is not better than civ IV, that's the problem: not better... only different... it has worse things and better things.

Sadly, some choices are very stupid when others are very good improvements....

Maybe people are tired of this site becoming the soap box for the Civ 4 2.0 crowd?
Nope

I think many are tired that the board is becoming the soap box for the Civilization Revolutions 1.5 crowd to say how this place has become the soap box for the Civ 4 2.0 Crowd. ;)

I think that's pretty far already from the actual subject that is the game to rant in every freaking post what this forum is or has become.

Also somehow magically for some people I somehow happen to share every characteristic and thought with every other member that share the same critical opinion about the current game.

It's hard to discuss when they know what my opinion is before I even present it or it is suggested that as part of "you" group I automatically spam the forums just because I have strong criticism towards it.

Also it's kind of hard to state your opinion if people already think that I hate them because I hate the game they happen to play.

A lot of people are more than tired of gay pride parades, doesn't make it right to censor them though.

Maybe, but those holding a gay pride parade would never schedule that parade at the same place and at the same time as a straight pride parade.

Freedom of speech does not equate to absence of common sense.

I like Jharii's thread better. Hating on other players for hating on a game, or whining about other people whining... pretty pointless, no? :)
