Should nudity in public be allowed?

If I'm correct on the laws in America, it is illegal for an adult to expose themselves to a child. I find that doing this is just as bad as any form of molestation, as the affects can be pretty long lasting on the child.

Please name five cases. Shouldn't be difficult if it's so severe a problem.

In my experience, children are quite natural with regards to nudity. And I really don't see why a child should be "molested" if it sees that some other guy looks exactly like dad between his legs. Children don't even have a concept that nudity should be avoided unless being taught so by their parents. Of course, if a child has been raised with the idea that nudity is themost evil sin on earth rather than a natural phenomenon, and *then* sees a nude stranger, now that may actually be a traumatic experience. But one might ask who's responsible for the trauma then - the person who just behaves naturally with regard to his/her body, or the persons who taught their children some strange concepts about nudity being evil.

If I teach my child that the colour red is evil, and it gets a trauma from going outside and seeing a red car, can I then hold the car owner responsible for the suffering of my child?

It might well make me feel uncomfortable in some cases but that's hardly a reason for me to force other people to do what I want. Allow it.

If an ugly person wants to get naked, that would be fine. But if everyone considers them to be ugly, then they'll laugh at them for being ugly. But seriously, even the ugliest of uglies can get a girl/boyfriend because they might be ugly too, or they might have a fetish for ugly people.

Seriously, if an ugly person wants to be naked, the crowds will be the judge on who's ugly and they'll deal with it accordingly with ridicule or admiration

I think towns should decide where public nudity is allowed, but the whole country shouldn't follow the same decision. Also, there are such things as child nudists, who go to nudist camps, and so on. And just some random fact.. apparently, nudist families are very close.

I think some level of decency should at least be respected if not enforced. As Narz said, I don't want to be stranded on a bus with a bunch of naked fat guys.

No, it could lead to a lot of unfortunate situations. It wouldn't be appropriate working in a steel foundry or shipyard. There are also issues of wallets, cigarette packets, keys and such paraphenalia.

In seriousness, no. It is not appropriate that people should be exposed to such things (literally) when it is not their choice. If people want to be nudists, there are camps, their own homes and beaches for them. They do not have to push it in the face of the rest of the population, as I wager there would not be an awful lot of takers.

In an uncontrolled environment, unlike the aforesaid nudist facilities or a strip club, there is the potential for troubles, exploitation and endless complications. It puts a new slant on the privacy issue.

It brings nothing to society. It does not contribute in a positive manner. It does not help development. All it does is cater to the fantasies or basically rather abnormal desires of a limited group.

In the general public sphere, there is no place for it. Within people's own homes, or within clubs or facilities of voluntary membership and participation, no problem. It keeps it to those who are interested in that type of thing, and leaves everyday life to those who really aren't interested.

why do you equate nudity to sex? they are 2 differnet things.

also, you keep saying it improper and bad, but dont say why, why is that? whats so shameful and bad about the human body?

also, is carrying your keys such a big issue? get a fanny pack.
protective clothing wouldnt magically disappear if people decided to be nude you know, so the steel foundry people wouldnt have a problem.
