Welcome to Texas, where everything is bigger. Especially the schemes and plots of what we like to call "outlaws".

Of course to combat those who recklessly ignore the laws of civilization, we made an organization dedicated to keepin' law and order in these parts. You can call them whatcha like, but I like to call 'em the Rangers. The Texas Rangers.

Anyway, let me tell y'a little story 'bout the biggest caper the Rangers ever did face. This here's the truth. Pull up a chair, get some grub, and listen to a story I call "Showdown."

Prelude - Night 0

Night was falling on Texas. Three coaches rode along in the dusk.

A well-distinguished businessman shouted at the coachman, "Let's get a move-on! We're moving at a snail's pace."

The coachman, a tall sturdy man, grimaced. "You can't ride here at night! Outlaws are bound to be anywhere." he shouted, obviously anooyed.

"Where are we heading to? I don't see hide nor hair of a town..." One of the Texas Rangers looked around as he asked the question.

"Don't matter. We'll stop here for the night," said the coachman.

The three coaches stopped, and they sat up camp quickly. They were all tired, especially the elder Ranger. He laid over on the edge of camp, and prepared to get a good-night's sleep.

He never woke up.

A Texas Ranger has been killed!

Spoiler :
He was Town!

The cavalryman was the one who found him the next morning. He called the camp together.

"We've got a killer in our midst. There's only one way to settle this, since we're 200 miles to the nearest town. We'll have to duel."

Rules
Spoiler :

I. Adhere to the Forum Rules. Pretty obvious.

II. Try to avoid editing your posts. If you edit a post, any votes in it are invalid and void.

III. This game has 2 phases: Day and Night. Day is ~48 hours, and Night is ~24 hours.
(A) During the day, vote for who you think is guilty. (See Rule V for lynch-resolving rules.)
(B) During the Night, any and all people with Night actions should PM them to me.

IV. You cannot quote, take images of, etc., your Role PM. However, you may paraphrase your role.
(A) You may make your own QuickTopics, but you must send me the link.
(B) You may talk to another player via PM; Do not break the rules while communicating.
(C) I, as GM, reserve the right to remove anyone from the game if they try to get around these rules.

V. Votes should be cast in the Vote: topsecret format. Unvotes are not required, though obviously allowed. Unvoting without a new vote counts as Abstain.
(A) Abstain and No Lynch are both allowed.
(B) The top two candidates will fight out in a duel to the death, the winner determined by the higher strength.
(C) Ties of strength will result in both players becoming wounded by one or more wounds. (For wounds, See Rule VII.)
(D) If one player has at least 75% of the votes, he is lynched regardless of his strength.

VI. Example Role PM:
Spoiler :
The MAN
(Name)
You're the MAN. Nobody can match your awesome skills. You are Town.(Description and Alignment)
Coin - 2 (Weapon - Strength)
THE POWER - Make yourself strength +10 until the next night phase. Take 1 wound. (Abilities)
Victory: Be the only player standing. (Victory Condition)
PG: Use the power to win a duel. (Personal Goal)

VII. Wounds are the number of injuries your character has sustained. Each one subtracts one strength from your character.
(A) Example: topsecret's default strength is 5. He has 2 wounds. He is effectively 3 strength.
(B) If a player has strength 0 because he or she has too many wounds, he or she dies instantly.
(C) There may or may not be a way to reduce your wounds.

VIII. Any and all abilities you have are in your Role PM.
(A) To use an ability, send me a PM with your target.
(B) You may or may not receive a result PM for your night action.

IX. When you're dead, you may make one BAH! comment. Otherwise, please stay quiet.
(A) Dead players may get a QT link with game details, if they wish.

X. I will replace people as I see fit. This is all left to the host’s discretion.
(A) If you wish to be replaced, let me know in thread or by PM, and I will try to find you a replacement.
(B) Please be active. It kills the experience of the other players if you’re not.

XI. I reserve the right to, at any time, change one, some, or all of these rules simultaneously if I believe that it is necessary to the game.

If someone has questions, PM them to me.
XII. Most importantly, have fun!

Too Long, Didn't Read:
The two players with the most votes duel to the death.
If one player has at least 75% of the votes, he is lynched regardless of his strength.
Ties add wounds to your character.
Wounds subtract 1 strength.
If you have 0 strength, you die.

You'll just miss day 1, and we don't have 10 people yet anyway.

Prelude - Night 0

"What are we waiting for? Let's just choose someone at random and kill them. That will help!" someone shouted.

The other members of the party thought this was a wonderful idea, but they never understood why.

"Hold on. Let's have the top two people who are suspicious fight to the death. That should settle it."

"YEAH!"

"Why not?"

Day 1 has begun. [timer=3/23/2013 6:00 PM EST;The day is over][/timer].[/size]

Choose someone to vote for. Voting will work as stated in the rules. If 75% of the votes are on the same player, they will be lynched, instead of a duel. If less than 75% of the votes are on the same player, the top two will duel.
