excellent. I was thinking of gitfting myself, but forgot about all the optional techs that we can use to trade. Nationalism will never be traded for a reasonable prize, but we don't really need it anyway.

Are we trying to grab the ToE? Might be a bit difficult on sid though.

I did leave an opening for Persia as I wanted their units to leave the south so we can expand easier wihtout them blocking roads etc.
I think we better have Persia attack France further up north while we take care of the southern ex-Russia/now France. We need to strip them off the saltpeter soon.

Upgrade our units and then go get the French with cavalry.
 
The Persians have retreated and are well within the region we want them to be. The French have a lot of troops still hanging around in the Russian area. I'll upgrade mounties to cavs, and start the war in a few turns, when our rail network extens far enough north for us to react to any threat. A few settlers will also finally reach their destination after struggling through the jungle.

7) 820AD
War weariness is rampant immediately. Silks and furs to the Persians gets us an alliance. Magnetism to the Babylonians gets us dyes. Steam Power and 400g gets us medicine from the Babylonians.

I found some aptly named towns: Kill, Destroy, Obliterate.

Military rail net is almost complete. Upgrade 3 more mounties.

Kill 16 units before I run out of targets, get some artillery back, as well as:

I also pull in the Egyptians; they probably won't be able to do much, but they can pester the French back lines a bit. I also give them gunpowder and ship them saltpeter so they can defend themselves better.

Germany and Celts sign peace. Germany and France ally versus Egypt. The French and the Babylonians ally against us and against Egypt. The French go after the Persians mostly and lose quite some units. We lose a single MW that couldn't be saved, way up north; no other attacks against us. Salamanca riots due to lost luxes.

8) 830AD
Redo micromanagement at 40% lux rate.

I lose one cavalry and a few retreat, but others kill three rifles in Vladivostok, and:

I lose 6 cavalry dislodging a big stack near Yekaterinburg, but we do kill 14 units in total this turn.

Those last few turns took very long obviously, so I didn't get to 10 turns. If Ignas can take it tomorrow evening, he should. If he can only grab it on Saturday, I may be able to complete my set. Not sure though, so you shouldn't hold back on taking it.

We need the pentagon and then some more armies. And we need a short war to keep our people happy. This won't be easy.

Mumpulus, I have not followed real close, but condolences on the DOW. I was just wondering about the setup at 800AD.

Why is an MW in French land, was it to see if you could get them to declare? I see a stack up cats by Novosibirsk out in the open, uncovered and many others around as well. Lots of MW's parked alone in a line on the border.

Why not get them some place to upgrade with all the cash on hand? Many pieces are parked around the border with no units over them. All of these units still have movement left, so I was curious about what was going on?
 
All those units were positioned to keep the AI, and specifically the French, out of our lands. I should probably have retreated them. Some of our units were in French land because of cultural expansions, and I didn't catch that until the French asked us to leave. I couldn't move them all out in time for them to really boot us.

It's only a small setback that they declared on us instead of the other way around. We'll get them soon enough.

Note to fellow team mates: we will need a lot more artillery.

Managed to play just 6 turns. I. Larkin is up

Captured all ex-Russian French towns and cleared our territory from French troops.

WW is at 50-70% and killing us. MA vs French with Egypt was a mistake, we can't make peace without trashing our rep.

Ergili flipped to Persians. Now it's perfect time to fight Persians, we are strong vs them. Persian longbow is in our territory so making them furious and demanding to leave should do the job.

Also Germans declared on us (we were paying them 200+ gpt so it's good).

Any idea, how to make Egyptians to declare or make peace with French?
Or revolt again? Finish wars whil in Anarchy and swich to Democracy?

as stated in other threads, I will be away from 6 to 17 June for holidays. I hope we can continue with the steam roller, but democracy wouldn't really help here..or do we want to go for SS. which I find personally pretty boring

Germany had 2 cities left when I had the game. Is there more to gain now?

How are we going to handle the rest of the game? If we're going all military, I'd switch to monarchy to get rid of WW.
No, it is just 2 cities. But it will be good landing point.
Or we may simply settle near Roman's Salpeter colony.
We need RepParts as a minimum, then we may swich to Monarchy.
But still not sure. If we take UniSufr, and grab more Lux republic is better.
We may exort Nationalism at some stage from Germany or Persia.

Diplonatic situation had change a bit last 2 turns, but not much.
