Sid Vicious and The Magnificent 7+1

I'll have to get the save and examine it. But I think we may be able to get a four turn warrior/settler factory out of Delhi.

@bugs: 4T warrior/settler is definitely doable. my calcs were for if we got something useful like WC or BW, then we could build something more useful than reg warriors :)

Preflight check: Looks good. I’ll probably keep the workers in pairs till we have more military. We cannot afford to lose them.

IBT: Barb warrior fortifies.

T1: 2510BC nada

IBT: barb warrior heads east, barb horse shows up on mountain NE of Bombay.
Bombay warior -> warrior
Persians complete Pyramids

T2: 2470BC Fiddle with lux slider due to growth.

IBT: Barb horse moves to plain E of pink dot. Barb warrior come back to say hello
Dehli settler -> settler

T3: 2430BC 1 warrior from Bombay heads for Dehli (sees barb warrior on mountain NE of pink dot, warrior and settler from Dehli head for Silks.

IBT: See a pink warrior kill the BW on the mountain + defend against the barb horseman. Barb warrior beelines for Dehli and another BH shows up on a mountain to the E.
Mongols complete Oracle.

T4: 2390BC Warrior/settler pair head SW along coast to minimize barb attack vectors. I will change the location of the silk town so it is on the coast.
Meet the French, the are up all 1st tier techs + writing. They also have 8 towns (count includes capitol). BW and WC are doubtful for 11gpt and 99g, offering this for the other techs insults Joan.
MM between Bombay and Dehli to keep 5fpt for Dehli. Bombay’s 5th shield is corrupted so it works are river grass instead.

IBT: warrior in Bombay is killed by BH and we lose a pop point. Barb warrior runs in too and we lose another pop point (down to 1).
Bombay warrior -> warrior

T5: 2350BC Warrior/settler pair SW, onto second spice (unseen in goz’s post). Workers finish road and mine BG.

IBT: quiet.

T6: 2310BC Madras founded -> warrior. I move the warrior out of Bombay, leaving it defenseless so we have an escort for the settler out of Dehli that is due next turn.

IBT: quiet; Dehli settler -> settler

T7: 2270BC Warrior heads for the spices, sees no one so the settler follows. Other warrior enters Dehli

IBT quiet

T8: 2230BC Warrior/settler pair moves to the spices.

IBT quiet; Bombay warrior -> warrior

T9: 2190BC Bangalor founded -> worker Workers mine the 3rd BG while Bubba provides cover.

IBT: quiet

T10: 2150BC Fiddle with lux slider due to growth in Dehli.

In 2T, the BG N of Dehli will be mined. At that point, we will be able to do 10spt at size 4.5 and higher. I recommend after this settler is finished that we build a warrior or 2 for escorting + MP duty and to get us up to 4.5. Then we can do a warrior + settler every 4T which will be very helpful as I would not send a settler out alone.
For the settler due on the IBT, you may want to pull the warrior out of Bombay so the one in Delhi can go with the settler.
We can buy a French worker for 114g if desired.

Meet the French
I was wodering whether you have a sid-pangaea game all for yourself...maybe the red indians took care of the wild west there

Silk for my jammies and curry!

I got it and will play tomorrow night.
meanwhile we need to discuss where are we going to settle next...
I believe next settler is heading to "Pink" dot, but what next???

Should we go north or may be east of bombay to another river i can see there

Given what little I can see of the map, methinks north and west are the better directions. Fuirther east just backs us into our corner.

I still think my dotmap holds, grahamiam didn't mess anything up, he just moved the W spot to the coast.

i believe that the french warrior is still holed up on the mountain NE of the pink dot, and that is currently acting as a barb sink hole. we can go for there or to the NW. we really know nothing about the map so, if the next player decides to build a couple of warriors before the next settler, send one of them out scouting.

we really need to spread out fast so that we take up as much space as possible before the AI's get to the MA. the barb uprising will be ferocious and we want our core cities to be insulated. for instance, it would really stink if that spot 2T s of Dehli became a barb village, i don't think we could adequately handle it. maybe madras needs to pop rush a temple to secure that side. otherwise, just keep painting the map purple.

edit: actually, as goz points out, i moved the silk town to the coast, which makes the hill 3T due W of dehli another possible site.

I was wondering if we should sacrifice a BG, to build it tight enough for 3-steps?

And we need to start building spears, so we have some kind of protection.

or we can move both western red circles one tile SW without sacrificing BG.

Sounds better. And, I wouldn't found a city 2 S of Delhi; don't think that fishing town would deserve to be rank #1.
But we should station a Warrior there, unless Delhi's borders expnad before the uprisings (btw, what about a cheap Temple in the capital? Should save quite some cash for being able to run with zero lux almost entirely).

Moving those dots SW effectively takes away the 3-step I was talking about. But if we don't care about that, then we will need a town NW of the sugar.

I don't remember how it works, but I don't think barbhuts pop up in the face of a warrior and the spot 2S should be covered already.

that spot 2T south of dehli could be closed by pop rushing a temple in Madrad after the current warrior is built. edit: this will also take care of the tiles SW of Madras

as another suggestion, the spot NW of Dehli could also be moved 1T NW while retaining the spot due W on the hill, but whatever looks best to the next player is fine with me.

for spears, we need BW, and we couldn't buy it for all our gold during my last turn. that's why i was stressing we need to meet people. they know all the techs, thus reducing thier buy costs. also, i don't like sitting on all that gold with all those barbs around, as they're sure to wipe out our warriors and start raiding our coffers.

I don't know either :lol: Maybe because I'm a chicken.

Basically by the original dots it just turned out that way. Said that, the dot NW of can be moved one NW further to the plains.

Ok...
here is the game plan... Move Western dots one tile SW.

I'd like to leave "the pink dot" where it is right now. I'd like to keep it on river.
and also..
Meet more people. Evade barbarians. Wisely spend all the cash before uprising.
if i make 5% of what i said i will consider my 10 turns a big success :)

Pre-turn: things look good.

T1. 2110BC Madras. Warrior->Curragh.
Delhi Settler->Warrior. Lux slider down

T2. 2070BC. Warrior hops on top of mountain north of Delhi and I can see pink french border and barbarian horse parked near by.

T3. 2030BC. Delhi Warrior->Warrior (I want to squeeze one more warrior out of Delhi and it will be ready next turn). Lux slider down to 10%

T4. 1990BC. Delhi Warrior->Settler. Lux Slider is up to 20%. We found Calcutta on "pink dot". Switched Calcutta to barracks for now. Visit Frenches every turn but they don't want to sell us nothing. Sending one worker SW to help improve land aroudn Madras and hook up silks. And another worker is going SE towards Bangalore.

T5. 1950BC. France established Dijon West from us.

T6. 1910BC. Bombay worker->warrior. Joanne wants 14GPT and all our gold for even cheapest techs she has. We need to meet more people, we need to meet more people. Delhi reaches pop 6. Settler is due next turn. Lux slider is up 30%.

IBT. Barb Horse moves in and threatens our worker.

T7. 1870BC Delhi settler->warrior. Settler is moving west. There is french town built, so we will have to culturally squeeze it. Taking warrior out of Delhi to cover. Lux slider is down to 20%.

IBT. Barb horse attacks our warrior in Calcutta and dies.

T9. 1830BC. Delhi warrior->Settler in 3T. Moving one warrior to protect worker near Madras. Lux slider up 30%.

T9. 1790BC. Madras Curragh->Worker (switch to temple??). Bangalore worker->Warrior. Bombay warrior->Barracks.

T10. 1750BC. Give workers instruction. Settler is due in 1.

Post turn: Other than that single horse barbarians didn't bother me much. and i do have NOAIPatrol fix in ini file.
We need to figure locations for new cities. I have two warriors scouting and one curragh. But i am afraid curagh will be attacked by 2 barb galleys hiding in fog. Feel free to make any build changes.

Keep pushing west and northeast.

I am a little surprised no one has shown up from the eastern corner yet.

we will not win a cultural battle with sid AI. Lagash will flip due to cultural expansion, but i'm not sure what we can do about it. let's try not to do that for the next town.
