Simcity4 Deluxe - Multiplayer Region play?

I just got SimCity 4 Deluxe (includes Rush Hour) and I was wondering how to share a region with a couple friends and each work on different cities without having to send files back and forth.

Is this possible?

If not, what's the easiest way of accomplishing this?

We start a region, and put it in the doc section. Every new city will be sent.

very simple, download the program, and share any file/folder
share the documents/simcity4/regions folder, after some one saves it, it appears on your map

What happens if someone has mods or plugins ? Do they download automatically too ?
I'm thinking of the NAM specifically.

I've done this once before, very rewarding. Count me in. Everyone download the latest NAM. Warpus, the game is basically unplayable without NAM.

there are a few issues with certain mass transit stations, specifically you can't in the ones themselves over the actual station or the game will crash. It's not a big deal and only effects HSR and a couply other GLR lots.

If two people were playing the region at the exact same time wouldn't saving become an issue. Since each person would load the region from its original state and then save the entire region, the second person to save would overwrite all of the other players progress, I would think.

Unless I'm wrong you could only play at different times of the day or basically one at a time.

To answer the question, you don't play at the same time. You upload your city into a region file anyone can access. It doesn't matter when or what date each city is on because when you play you are just using the latest downloaded region, but you only then upload your specific city.
