Sirius Intra-Team Pitboss Game!

Hmm, I notice Civstats is displaying "Unknown" for all the leaders. Why is that? Was it not set up in the usual way? The other game (http://www.civstats.com/viewgame.php?gameid=1747) seemed to have no trouble with identifying all the civs, even the BTS ones.

Well I posted that an look what I found ;)

Neat. You actually have food to grow too, unlike me. What's the other capital like? :)

Alright, i'm actually in.
Very close to my teammate...

I moved in a less productive tile to gain room for a coastal city.

Started the same research, since i'm plenty of herds to pasture.
Is it better to research the same or use different paths?

Thanks for the link, sorry i didn't read it completely until now, so i exit to desktop.
No more, sorry again.

Can please anyone provide the link for this game on Civstats?

My starts.

The scout moved 83 (north then southeast), and spotted corn. What's that corn doing outside of my BFC? Naughty corn. As you can tell by the scores, I moved to get closer to the corn. It doesn't really cost me a turn because the worker would have had to have taken an extra turn to get to the cows otherwise anyway. Plus, three off the coast means my subsequent coastal cities would get squished (depending on where the seafood is of course). Happy with a floodplains start for a financial leader, just hope I don't get rushed off the map before the cottages mature :)

Rarely turn down a chance to settle in place on a plains hill. In fact, I was so sure of myself that I settled *before* moving the scout, so that I knew what direction to move the scout in (although the plan is to scout the land in between my civs to get them connected). Happy to see more corn, and both irrigated this time. Not quite the stone-marble of certain other players but it will do.

I didn't check through all the civs, but should we not have an exception on the no-war before 1AD rule for civs with an early UU?

I think I might throw my hat into the mix to share my team. I think it was Grant who was next in the queue? From his description he is a better player than myself so I'll let him have the pick of the 2 leaders.

Willem van Oranje or Julius Caesar

I'll stay out of game until then unless I'm the one holding up the game in which case I'll play the first turn for both.

Can I suggest that the only type of attack banned is the scouting warrior into a city building a worker first? Its an easy problem to avoid but its not worth losing an early team over for those that forget.

Yep, already put it in the first post. :)

Exceptions should be applied to everyone or no-one, otherwise they're unfair.

Okay, sure. I'll change the first post accordingly. Grant, make your pick and log in when you can. :)

Sure, if you want. But some people (at least DaveShack, maybe others) seemed to want a guarantee of a longer peace. To me it doesn't matter either way, but we should go with the majority opinion.

Can someone explain in a nutshell how research works in a team? Is it that once we each discover a tech we immediately share it? Or do the beakers get added up and some mechanism to decide which tech it is we're researching?

@pindicator: I opened both starts so i could post them already and see what they were like. I started with lincoln, but left augustus alone so you can decide where you'd like to settle (i just moved the warrior to check out some surroundings). That is if you don't mind playing augustus (he was last in the list), if you prefer lincoln that's also fine by me. I didn't password the civs yet, but i suppose we better do that once you're in the game too.

Anyway the starts

Lincoln

What a MASSIVE amount of furs there
Should be good for early economy, and two sheep in first border pop.

Augustus

BLubmuz missed it :)

Sure, but I agree with caveman that it is certainly a disadvantage to those who have UU available from the start. Their UU will be becoming outdated by the 1AD peace line.

Just remembered this is a double civ game therefore early UU will be gone even earlier than usual so an early peace treaty will hurt even more.

As far as I understand it, the team beakers are all automatically added together, and the whole team gets the technology when it's finished. It's most efficient to research the same thing with all civs, but you can spread it out it you want to.

I'd vote for early war allowed just to keep it real, but I'll happily go with the majority.

By the way, it appears at least two people (hellhound and half of caveman1917) seem to have forgotten the old end turn button.

That's because pindicator is supposed to be on my team but hasn't played yet. The game just renamed it automatically to my name (caveman1917) when i already went to check the starting position.

The civstats registration is sirius. Added to OP.

Civs weren't identified because I was supposed to be working then and had already chewed up a lot of time. It's fixed up now.

The beakers per tech seems to be higher than it would be on a normal SP game with half as many civs. That will offset the apparent higher rate from having more than one civ in the team. This means UU won't be obsolete faster than normal.
