Sirius Intra-Team Pitboss Game!

I think I might throw my hat into the mix to share my team. I think it was Grant who was next in the queue? From his description he is a better player than myself so I'll let him have the pick of the 2 leaders.

Willem van Oranje or Julius Caesar

I'll stay out of game until then unless I'm the one holding up the game in which case I'll play the first turn for both.

Thank you very much Champinoman, I look forward to working with you. I'll be more comfortable with Willem Van Oranje, so I'll load the game up now and get started on that. We'll have to exchange PMs to discuss our early strategy.

Well I made the first move, unfortunately I'm having some issues with print screen so no start pics, sorry. My partner can handle those if he likes, or I'll try again tomorrow. This computer has always run civ fine, but simple things like word or paint tend to confuse it, go figure. Brief verbal description of the starts would be lots of seafood for me, and a cow for my good friends the Romans.

Sure, if you want. But some people (at least DaveShack, maybe others) seemed to want a guarantee of a longer peace. To me it doesn't matter either way, but we should go with the majority opinion.

Perhaps we could make the rule so that you cannot declare war until 1AD or your UU comes 'online' :) We'd still have a garantee of mostly peace until 1AD, and everyone can predict when their neighbours' UU appears, but it wouldn't come down to effectively saying to some that they'd have to play without their UU.

Either way, i think we should decide on it rather quickly :)

Hey caveman, are you the one that got stuck with me? ;)

I will try to peak in and see if I can get connected.

Yep, that's me ;)

If you got any preference for which civ you'd like to play, let me know. I'll log in as the other then and see how the ingame chat works. Never played any multiplayer before :)

The beakers per tech seems to be higher than it would be on a normal SP game with half as many civs. That will offset the apparent higher rate from having more than one civ in the team. This means UU won't be obsolete faster than normal.

Going off the top of my head and in reference to another post regarding the demo game I believe that with teams of 2 there is a 50% markup on beaker costs however with 2 civs tech'ing together this results in techs being 75% of their cost in comparison to a single player on the same settigns. So the UUs will still outdate faster than a normal game.

i looked at civstats and saw your name next to lincoln so i grabbed julius. We can swap if you rather play with praets though :)

Just for the record, you may have taken one of my teams leaders...

Unless you meant Augustus?

EDIT: Just saw grant chose WvO so you stole my leader :P

well, i might have messed up already. I tried to grab augustus as rome but the only choice as rome was julius? I didn't set a password (thank goodness) but my name's on the civ... shoot

i logged right out when i realized i had the wrong team. can anybody with MP experience help guide me?

Are you sure you grabbed julius? Because we're playing augustus, there are two romes in the game. Was there a city already and do you have line of sight with washington?

If you scroll down on the list of civs you'll see a second Rome with Augustus as the leader

No problems, can you either a) reload and change/remove password or b) if its not the same password as Augustus send it to me in a PM? (if its not a regular one of yours)

hey, the one thing i did right is not set a password! you should be able to get in as julius w/o needing one.

I'm still not seeing a second Rome  I see Lincoln though! :D

Ok now I'm confused. I don't see a Lincoln. I see Augustus all the way at the bottom of the civ list, you have to use the scroll bar to see him. We're definitely looking at the same game as my ally does have your name on his leader (which is not permanent no big deal)

Does anyone else see those dots that appear in front of the score of some civilizations but not others? What do they mean? There doesn't seem to any pattern to them
