I would have it no other way. Islam and Catholicism will one day meet again on the battlefield. Yet it does not have to be today, for now, we find common enemies everyday, once they are all gone, we shall fight to show who are the ones truly blessed by god.

to Venice:
While I thank you for the offer of protection, I am not interested in the demise of the Frank Kingdom, only the end of their king. For now I wish to ask for the Frank people to do what is right, without outside influence. If they choose their king over their god, than we will enter their lands. For now, stand down and be on the defensive.

I quote King Clovis III,
Kneel before your rightful Emperor, and you may be shown some mercy. French troops will be in Rome soon enough. You pray for your armies, and I will lead mine. We will see who bows to who.
That sounds like a declaration of war to me on you, Pope Benedict. As you wish, however.

I remove that former statement of a war declaration, but believe me, any unauthorized entering of my borders by the Frankish Empire will be fatal.

Yes, I am aware of the French King's war declaration. Yet I would not be the Pope of the Holy See if I would not give him a week to humble himself before god and come to Rome to beg for my forgiveness. I might even give him a little more leeway if he does so.

I am not afraid of war with the Frank King, for I trust his people's faith lies in the right place, with god in the heavens. If it does come to war and I will be forced to declare war and a crusade of the Frank King, than I will come to you for the aid you will most likely give.

God is on our side my son. There is no need to countless dead Catholics yet. For now I wish to say I am happy with your dealings with the Tatars. I have attempted to contact them but I received no answer, apparently money is all they need for now.

Other than that, I wish to tell you I have plans for the creation of several new free city-states in Italy together with your accumulation of some new lands. I will discuss with you about this once this Frank Deal is over.

to Castile:
Life is better than death, until the soul is in danger.

In a military camp outside Kiev:

Two luitenants jousted over rights to captured prisoners from Kiev. One wielded a sword, the other, a battle ax. Both weapons were wooden, so neither combatant could deal much harm to the other. Around them stood the soldiers, waiting to see who won this meaningless face off.

Suddenly, the luitenants battle was interupted by an arrow, falling into the ground between them. The entire army group turned to see a man on a horse, with a banner of New Kiev.

"In the name of Stanisław, the lord of Kiev, all army groups are called to bow before his rule, and turn over any prisoners of war that they may posses, so as to ensure adequate housing in Kiev is created for all who seek it, be they locals or Poles."

The initail reaction of the soldiers would have been negative, if not for the apperance of several other riders and a large ox pulled cart.

"Yes, we have prisoners, though slightly used." proclaimed one of the Leutenants

"Well than bring them out, in the name of the gods and the city of New Kiev."

As it became clear that the horsemen outnumbered the warband, the prisoners were brought out.

The horsemen rode of. The two leutenants, now with a common gripe were soon the best of friends.

"Those prisoners look like they cannot lift a brick, much less build a house!"
"Some meat and rations will solve that. If these "independant" war chiefs would do as the city states told them too, Old Kiev would be salvagable and this land would be far easier to control."
"Nomads."
The horse company rode into the gates of New Kiev. Around them, Kievians were already rebuilding their homes with wood brought by order of Stanisław. In places, life had returned to normal, but the lack of walls around the city gate highlighted how much needed to be done.

Meanwhile in Gdansk. The Baltic trade had long been a source of riches for this strong Northern city. Now, the Gdansk army was returning with plunder from its successful Kiev campaign. The wood was to be immediatly put to use on the construction of better docks for the city.

The current dock was small, and unable to handle as much trade as it received. This ment that prophet was lost, especially with new competition from Thingurian ports. Gdansk had called to limit the Thingurian advance, but Warsaw, Polotsk and the others had so far ignored their Northern ally.

The wood from Kiev was made into dock segments which were placed into the sea, in order to expand the hardor. The plan worked as the segments of dock were attached to one another. Perhaps now Gdansk could fully benefit from the Black Sea trade.

To Thinguria: We will tolerate your current expansion, but not further east.

The Declaration of Imperialism
In the Year 852 AD
The time had come. The Armenian peoples, hundreds of years old, finally believed themselves legitimate Emperors. On the Morning of December 25, the day of Our Saviour's Birth, King Herkules was crowned Emperor Herkules the Great. His rule would be steadfast, and would lay the foundations of Armenia's future greatness.

From: Emperor Herkules the Great

We request official recognition of our Imperial status, by nations we believe it affects the most. Also, consider this our claim of the Pope in Rome's illegitimacy.

Made my story look like a book. What you guys think. Is it readable?

From: Queen Astridr Thorsdautir, Eric Alrunson, Chief Skald of Hereot

It is said that a Castle built of Snow lasts only so long as the sun doesn't come out, and so, a belief built on lies only lasts as long as all are in accord. Loki the Deceiver will always trick and turn from his followers, it is his nature, no matter how he might try to contain it, for he knows that, like the snow castle, the moment he turns away, the Light that is the Allfather will melt his pack of lies.
And such is happening in the south. A religion where any may declare themselves leader is not a religion but a lie: If the only rule for declaring oneself leader stems from the power to force it on others, then you are doing nothing but confirming that you are built on a castle of Lies. While the rule of Men rests on the basis of strength, that of religion of on Faith, and conflating the two does NOT work, no matter what lies you tell your followers.
Soon enough, the last of the snow will melt, the Light of the Allfather will bring life and love back to the south.

Mickzter97 that's awesome.

from the one and only
to Armenia:
I will send you a memo when I will start carrying about what you think of my legitimacy. Also I find it find you are speaking to the "Pope" in Avignon as if he were a free character... You should address directly the Frank "Emperor", the puppeteer.

to Clovis III:
Your time is running out. There are but only a few days left. Surrender to the will of our lord before you will find yourself receive a greater punishment from god.

to the heathens of the north:
You speak of declaring "leaders" as if it were true. May I remind you your religion did not exist less than a hundred years ago?

To: The followers of the Great Deceiver.
Forn Sidr roughly translates into "faith of the ancestors." Our Ancestors have been following the Aesir and the Vanir for far longer than Loki has been whispering his lies into your ears. The Centralization of the Faith was merely a response to the encroachment of these lies. If you do the research you should do instead of blindly accepting the "truths" told to you, you'll find that the Allfather was nailed to the World Tree Long before Loki stole the story for his lies.

(OOC: I don't really see the emergence of Forn Sidr as anything more than the Centralization of the Norse/Germanic faith by the construction of the temple complex and support from the crown.)

OOC: I see it differently ;)

to the northern heathens:
Building a temple to organize old false religions with fusing it with new false ideals does not make a religion true. Truth comes from the lord, who with his wisdom taught his son upon the Earth of his ways to save humanity from original sin. (ooc: Ahhh religion is so crazy!) Our lord is not your so called Loki, he is a single god, the only one who truly exists.
