Does anyone know of a good game for two people (possibly plus AI) where one person hasn't played more than a few games? Nothing big like Diablo, Age of Empires, Neverwitner Nights, etc. I'd prefer it not be a flash or web based game, unless it is really, really good (99% are crap).

Preferably under 100 megabytes, if not under 50 or less to give you an idea of what I want.

EDIT: I don't care about LAN as we can't do that.

Definitely Defcon !

It's less than 60Gb, you can jump right in and have fun, but it also has a deep strategy if you want. Lots of fun if you like nuclear war.

Serious Sam, liero, worms or if a webbased boardgame is interesting - toulouse at games.asobrain.com, which basically is carcassonne.

Majesty could be pretty fun for a while in mp.

Return Fire.

What, there is a return fire for PC

Thanks Aelf, this was great on the 3DO.

Oh, yes there is. I didn't say underdogs ;)

No problem. I played the game again with someone at home recently. It was still great fun after so many years.

Blobby Volley is great fun to play with gaming challenged people when there is no LAN available.
If you have gamepads, firing up an SNES emulator with Super Mario Kart would also work.

That game was good for a while, then I realized how ridiculous it was and never played it again.

Pawn Game (online) is pretty decent... Correction: WAS pretty decent. Now that it became more popular and wide-based oriented, the game now sucks. Though if it's just for you and a friend, just make yourselves an account and start up a game with a password. No AI though.

I used to play this super cool game where you stacked colored blocks in a 3d environment, and they spread influence and you tried to capture control points, but it had some weird Spanish name that started with a b. :/

I'll go look at freeware databases and get back to you.
For the record, it was kickass and easy to learn.

The game is Bontago.

This I second. Thanks for reminding me I own this game, may give it another blast :goodjob:

After posting this I played it again and got my head handed to me in less than an hour. It looks like the level has clearly gone up, which is more incentive to keep on playing.
If you ever find an Izipo somewhere, there's a good chance it's me ;)

Their forums are very interesting too, especially for the advanced strategies.

EDIT : Btw Princescamp, will you tell us which one you tried and enjoyed in the end ?

GLtron!

You need just two keys per player (left and right), if I remember correctly, and you can have a bunch of people playing on the same keyboard. AI players are available as well.

PS: Bontago doesn't mean anything in Spanish.
