Earth, The Space Elevator (3 years left)
There have been minor setbacks on this project as Tibetian Terrorists managed to sabotage several supply shuttle. But now that security has increased considerably such attacks are very unlikely to happen again. The CMS stated that inspite of these terrorist acts the project will be finished as planned. An asteroid has already been put in earth orbit, in a distance of 100,000 km, and the first cables will be attached to it soon. These cables consist of carbon-nanotube-composite ribbon and are far stronger than any other cables in existence. If everything goes well, the elevator could be used in about two years and would be finished in three.
Mercury, New Nanking colony (1 year left)
The first chinese colony is a full success. Already 5,000 colonists from all SRP states live there and work hard for the greater glory of the SRP. 2/3 of the colony are situated beneath the surface of Mercury because radiation levels are much lower down there. Altough the colony still relies on supplies from Earth, it will become self-sufficient in 11 months. The research facility on Mercury is due to be online in about a year as well for chinese engineers had some trouble maintaining the observatory in Mercury's orbit. After some meteor showers five months ago it seemed that the project was lost but luckily it could be saved. Also China has claimed the whole of Mercury in the name of the SRP.

After an extensive survey of Jupiter and the surrounding moons military outposts have been established on Io, the innermost of the Galilean moons, and on Europa, where recently a layer of liquid water was found beneath Europa's ice surface. Both moons have been declared a prohibited zone and only the chinese military has access to it.

I would have to consult with my allies first, as my loyalities lie primarily with them. But as a first step toward cooperation, China and the US could sign a Trade Treaty and a Right of Passage Agreement to show the members of our respective alliances that we intend to do it.

Russia Launces itself into the scrambl for the asteroid belt
With the construction of the Alexander Nevskij, a large space station in the asteroid belt, Russia has staked it's claim to the wealth contained within. This is expected to take two *game days*.
On another note, the first permanent, self-sufficient Russian settlements on Mars's moons have been completed.
Also, Russian scientist are researching a new form of mining laser that is expected to significantly boost mining productivity and effectiveness.
Earliest estimates are a year for completion of a prototype, then a further year for mass production.
