So, what do you make of this start?

Yeah, this game is definately a mess. Rome, Carthage, and Delhi are all a moments walk away from my capitol. I believe Paris is to.

I took CoL with Oracle because I figured this game is going to be an easy win and I might try a new victory path. Every game Ive played I went for space ship and I thought maybe I could do a Cultural victory since I think that seems like the most fun way to win.

I might start over again and see what kind of alternate paths I can take with it. I like the idea of farming for specialists, but it isnt very effective for whipping chariots as opposed to axemen. I think I tend to lean towards carl corey's opinion on that matter, but Im hardly a good civ player.

One final note, this is a Pangaea game, not continents. Its only the second time Ive played Continents before. Standard size, medium water, temperate, etc.

Pangaea map means you can easily win by conquest or domination. No need to wait for either cultural or space race. Rome and India are easy meat, just build units after units from all cities other than the capital. If you do manage to put a shrine in the Confucian holy city consider building gold multiplying buildings in it, but otherwise you're better off continuing to build units.

I realize this is just Prince, and quite a good starting place too, so maybe my Monarch habits are showing. I'm trying to concentrate my "wonder" efforts in one direction or another, instead of building all and each wonder and see what Great Person pops out. For example in my game I had 3 Great Engineers, and as I didn't need any of them for wonders - got GW, Pyrs, Hanging Gardens & Great Library on my own - all of them went to lightbulbs: Metal Casting (an alternative to building the Oracle for it), Machinery (which meant I had Macemen soon after) and the third was spent to speed up Engineering for Trebuchets and road movement. When that one finishes the game is practically over. Rome & India are already down to one city I didn't bother to take, and the rest of the AIs will soon follow their lead. They can't possibly resist a combination of Macemen, Crossbows, War Elephants & Trebuchets.

As for next Great Persons, the chances are pretty evenly split between a GE and a GS, with an artist unlikely though I have the National Epic there. GSs will lightbulb the Paper -> Education line if I want to go for Liberalism (not really needed), and GEs will lightbulb Feudalism -> Guilds -> Gunpowder -> Chemistry once I research Monarchy, so I'd still rather have GEs to finish the game off. A university in the capital would of course not be bad either, though I might use the first GS for an Academy and continue down the GE line.

Now some suggestions closer to your game. You'll probably have a couple of Great Prophets popping up from time to time. Of course the first can build a shrine. The second one can lightbulb Theology for Theocracy, just be sure to spread Confucianism to all your cities. Switch to it and consider even Police State if your happiness is improved by other means than Representation. The benefits from lots of cities building 5XP units 25% faster should outweigh the downside of leaving Representation.

Wow, lots of great tips in there carl corey. I admit I dont pay much attention to the gp points provided by wonders in the way that you do, and now that you point out how you do it, I think I will start watching it more. Also, I rarely build wonders in general, unless Im way ahead and I have nothing to build.

I really wish I would have got this start on a continents map. I feel like Pangaea is really easy as I had a pretty easy go at it the first time I played to. Maybe Ill give Archipelago a shot instead.

Another thing...I usually focus on great scientists because 1) its so hard to get engineers (only forges provide them early I believe) and 2) I didnt realize engineers could pop the line along chemistry. That could be useful.
