Kafla - are you going to release a book with all your historical filth in it? I would certainly buy it, even if it means getting it shipped from somewhere else in the world. If this book contained a decent amout of content, I would pay up for it.

As for the crappiest leader? well, Simon Crean, but Aussie politics cant be involved, so...

well, I know barely anything about history, but if I had that book, I could make my decision ;)

I'd have to tighten it up considerably first. In the meantime, if you like that sort of thing Richard Zacks has done a couple of excellent books that I'd recommend to anyone- "History laid bare" and "An Underground Education".

He never actually did it - he just threatened them with it. As in "My horse would make a better Senator than most of you guys! Now piss off! As I have to take the legions to the very edge of the world to collect seashells"
He was assassinated by Senators - after marginalising the Senate and holding it up to public ridicule.

Caligula. What could possibly be dumber than appointing your horse to a government position?
He would have always voted neigh anyway, so what is the point?

Can someone post a brief summary of Caligula's rule? Thanks

Ivan IV "The Terrible". Ivan was at times a very shrewd and intelligent ruler but at the same time he was a criminally insane sadist. One moment he would be praying for hours asking for forgivness in church, the next he would be in his dungeon torturing and raping.

Priam, King of Troy. "Dismantle the gates so we can bring in this gift from the Greeks who have been beseiging the city for the past 10 years."

If only Hector was a live to tell him "pops, that isnt such a good idea..."

Aye, more a case of "beware of Trojans, for they are thick as pigs**t"

dont diss the Trojans now- Hector is arguabley more of a hero then Achilles is ;)

They seem to have been slightly lacking in the common sense department though :D
