Its an earlier build of the game. The crash was a result of him trying to load an earlier build save into a newer build. Always tricky that.

I think it's a little bit worrying that a civ that is 4 times as powerful is not able to finish of the human player in a protracted war at the second highest difficulty. I can't remember ever being outnumbered like that in Civ4.

The choke point has a big part to play with him still being alive and the fact samurai are so strong, maybe with indian for example he'd be long gone.

I'm very optimistic so far, but that ZOC still bugs me a little bit. I wish there were some way to undermine it.

But there'll be choke points everywhere. The AI needs to be able to cut through it somehow, especially on the second highest difficulty and with such an enormous lead on the player. That treb instakills every unit that steps up.

I just noticed that French city between the Tigris and Euphrates and OH MY GOD it is beautiful! I just love how the buildings stop on the river.

City states seem really important, well worth making friends it seems. I think France needs to flank that treb with ranged units instead of sending troops to die against it.

^ you're not missing anything in the USstream chat though. People asking the same question over and over which are already answered if they bother to read forums or ciV sites. Or making irrelevant comments such as renaming their general to Tom Cruise ( Japan, samurai, the Last Samurai) and asking to construct additional pylons.
