ODK the problem with splitting the file is alot of people are unfamiliar with extracting split archives. Recon uploding is a pain it took me 9 hours to upload a 600meg file recently.

just btw: is there a limitation of the number of units you may add to a mod in c3c and if yes will soe hit this limit ?

Technically, I don't think there's a limit. But, there is a limit in the number of units that can be on the map at any one time - that limit is 4096 with vanilla Civ3 or PTW, and 8192 with C3C I believe. So yes, you could have 10,000 units in a mod if you were really enthusiastic (and insane... ), but you wouldn't be able to make use of them all (at least, not simultaneously).

By the way, three hours of your computer/internet connection's time is nothing, especially when you consider the countless hours of fun you'll have experiencing the thrills and excitement of this wonderfully detailed mod.

maybe you could use a download manager. I once used a program called Getright or Getwrite back when I was still on dial-up.
