Somethin' wrong with the world today...

You misunderstand me (and hold the pity, it makes you seem arrogant). I am saying I wouldn't change anything in my PAST, not the FUTURE. My life-plan is chaos anyway, which has its upsides and its downsides but its the path I have chosen, and its gotten me this far...
My apologies. I read into your words what many other people usually mean when they say that kind of thing. Now I understand what you truly meant, I applaud you.

My own past is full of folly and torment and happiness and achievement. I can't change that either and wouldn't want to because I have learnt from it, sooner or later. Eventually I've realised that I needn't try to build a new future somehow separate from what's gone before, but that I can instead add new things to an ever growing past.

Has anyone here read "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Spencer Johnson, M.D.?

Excellent book I would reccomend to anyone with a problem with change. If I had to change something in my life, I wish I did not do those 1 and a half million embarrasing things in the last 17 yers of my life.

Very true, Stormerne - I find that as long as one learns from one's experiences, then there is something to be gained from even the worst life has to offer. I think the saddest part of life is continually making the same mistakes. I may not know where I am going but I do know which paths to avoid.

(I may check out that book.)
