Sons of Mars II

Of course, ultimately, treaty agreements will only fire depending on who attacks first...

So even if you take it as an act of war, if you attack first, Math's agreements activate, not yours. ;)

The wonderful game of chicken!

*Takes a deep breathe*

I. Demand. Reparations.

You think you can just sink my ship without even firing a shot at me? Huh? I demand fifty gold to pay for a new ship and to give all the widows and fatherless kids a good home since there's no man back home or abroad to pay for them. And if I don't get by 50 gold, I will take this sinking as an act of war.

isn't it merely a speculation...? what if i pay you the 50 gold, and it turns out that someone else did it? it might even be a rouge Spaniard trying to make life difficult.

The rebels desire a different monarchy altogether, and as such, are rioters. Fortunately, there's only two of them so they are easily crushed.

Belgium's superior training kills the rebels without money needing to be spent.

In light of this I'm going to give a one time offer of amnesty to any rebels who puts down there arms and go home, anyone who refuses will bring agonising death to them selves and there families, no one will be spared not even the women and children.

Instead of killing the women, capture them and sell them to Nationalist Florida;)

@ Maddy:

The rebels are already dead, as seen in the post. :p

Spend your income as you see fit now! :)

Well... In light of this possible aggression against Albania, I am withdrawing my guarantee until it is obvious that this is not an early act of war, or a spy action gone wrong. If this act turns out to be aggressive in nature... I warn you, my guarantee of Albania will be invoked.

Are you telling me that a rogue Spaniard civilian SOMEHOW GOT CLOSE TO ONE OF MY WARSHIPS and SENT IT TO THE BOTTOM?

My ships were blockading Spanish ports. What do I believe? That Renaissance-era Spain has a crapton of gunpowder or whatever all about in such massive quantity that the average civvie can grab his hands on it, sail out, and sink my ship or do I believe that this was a successful spy action with a semi-failed spot check? The only other people in the neighborhood are is the CIS (who I just signed a DP with), the Salt Empire (who had NO reason to sink my ship) or Austria (who again, has NO reason to sink my ship).

The nation facing a 25% blockade and has superior tech would do this and is probably going to end up getting away with this in the long run. All I'm demanding is 50 gold.

Well alright, since I have access to the mediterranean I'm going to assume I can open up communications with European states now, and would like to buy our ancestral home from the British if they can be cajoled.

We offer trade to The Olafic Republic, Albania, and Hapsburg!

....just trying to be logical here. 50 gold will be sent to Albania. next time this happens (and to any nation involved) i will not pay.

of course, it wouldent be a random civilian. it would be a random smartly trained citizen.

As Belgium's trade contacts are Kenya and S. Africa, Britain has a lucrative deal for both sides:

-The Belgium region will be ceded to the Belgians
-The Tunis region will be ceded to the United Empire

A fair trade, and while it moves the Belgians away from the Mediterranean, their expanionist mentality and excellently-trained troops will quickly make up the difference(from its Belgium position, the Belgians will be able to negotiate up to 6 sea tiles away, meaning the entire Mediterranean). It will also open up trade with Kalmar.

Olafic Republic accepts Maxa's trade agreement.

Guyanese Excursion

Enerjak reasons it is time to put his plans into action. With the nations of the world consumed by chaos, no one will take notice if he scoops up Guyana. Guyanese defenses are formidabble for such a small state, but he's determined to show his empire's might. He must re-assert his dominance, chaos powers or no.

Enerjak002.png

He arrives, and of course, offers mercy if they surrender. He forgets his location - seeming to channel past Enerjaks - and refers to the Guyanese as the citizens of Echidnaopolis.

They reject him, naturally, and hostilities begin. Guyana boosts its Army to 6, while Enerjak has already boosted his Army to 9. He has +2 on the Guyanese, as they are Militaristic. Battles will be between 1-10!

As for intervention:

-All neighboring states sans CIS and Patagonia have expended their resources.

CIS has a trade agreement with Enerjak and is not gonna throw it away for a pointless war.

Likewise, Patagonia knows that even if it allied with the Guyanese, they'd be butchered like cattle! The Antilles made a deal with the Enerjak Empire, and see potential in remaining friendly. Likewise, too weak to make a difference.

Maya and Canada would be potent, but they exhausted their resources on Florida.

Gran Colombia has superior training, but they have yet to build up their actual numbers, and so, war with Enerjak wouldn't be wise.

-And, as I lock orders after you enter them, you can't retcon your actions either. :p

Back to the actual battles!

The Guyanese mount a last stand, throwing everything they can muster at the armies of Enerjak. Enerjak himself joins the fray! Of course, he is humored they somehow had some semblance of modern technology... but it is futile!

He tires of the game.

Guyana is crushed and annexed.

56 Army tech, and 62 Econ tech become Enerjak's. In total, Enerjak levels up 2 in Econ and 1 in Army, putting it on par with the Gran Colombian level of training!

Enerjak returns home victorious, the nominal Avatar, head of state, congratulating him. The real ruler, Enerjak himself - believed by most Brazilians to be merely a legend - doesn't talk much before returning to his room.

Enerjak collapses, breathing heavily. Alas... his sole emerald, while giving him great power, was not enough to maintain his godhood. Like Shadow, he could tap into huge amounts of power at once, but would tire right after...

Oh, how he couldn't wait to return home some day... he would crush those insolent children. With the massive army he'd amass...

The demigod passed out, drifting into a mortal's sleep...

Spain decides to ignore the Brazilian war of aggression. for a price.

trade agreement?

By the time Spain's ships reached the Palatinate's territory, forces would be rebuilt. Plus, it would be possible to sink the one ship carrying all of Spain's troops if such a force was sent to begin with, before it could reach shore.

Ahem. Regardless, the Palatinate's forces are eager to accept the trade agreement in the name of Enerjak.

even i am not that stupid. i would send 5 or more navies. not one. and, great :D

Formation of the Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere

Spoiler :
The Tenno knows nothing unifies a divided people like war against a third party. Accordingly, he invests power in the Shogunate to exterminate the Tibetan menace.

Wu and Siberia are aligned with Tibet.

The three together have 39 provinces to Japan's 35, with Japan making up the difference in superior training, extensive contacts, and the Scientific trait.

Let there be war!

Link to video.

Siberia, having already spent its money, doesn't have much to offer.

The Wu, desperate, manage to make friends with Srivijaya, and get a discount on tech.

The Tibetans, likewise, boost their army...

Japan surges to Army 10, giving them 3 movement points and a huge morale advantage, thanks to working with Srivijaya, which as a true neutral, is playing both sides.

Japan spends its last 14 gold on 3 armies, using Auralia to train them!

While the Wu spend their time fortifying the border, the Japanese sneak in from behind with 4 armies!

The Wu get +20% to all rolls in a beachhead battle, so that may help. However, the Japanese have +6 on them!

Spoiler :
4 9

It's 10 to 9, but the Wu bonus automatically adds a 1.8, so Japan is sent packing.

7 4

Japan lands in Indochina.

9 4
9 8

Japan takes 2 provinces.

The Japanese dispatch some more amphibious troops down south, and use their beachhead to nullify the penalty.

Complete annihilation! The WU capital falls and the Emperor is executed.

While the Wu maintain 5 armies across 4 provinces, the Japanese have hordes to launch at them.

And the Wu are ka-powed!

The Japanese gain 25 army tech, and 48 Econ tech, from the fallen Wu.

Japan, now with the Wu absorbed into its mass, has become the largest nation on Earth by a measure of one province, Olaf being right behind it.

The Empire of the Rising Sun, of course, is eager to test its defensive capabilities, and so...

...this will be amusing.

Red Dawn ends a different way...

Spoiler :
Like sheep to the slaughter, Tibet strikes. It hopes to use sheer numbers to break the border force. Pity they don't know Florida or Songhai, or they'd know how horrid this idea is.

All 8 Siberian invaders are destroyed. The Siberians are left with 10 armies, which are moved to defend the frontlines!

The Tenno orders a march on the Japanese capital now that their armies are immobilised.

The capital is now in Japanese hands. Japan gets the 4 gold in the vault as a result!

The Japanese lose a unit, but take 2 provinces.

When the dust settles, Japan has 59 provinces, while the Siberians have 10 provinces with 6 armies, and Tibet 5 provinces with 2 armies.

Opportunity for all states near Japan!

The Japanese Tenno would like to extend offers to the Olafic Republic, Slavic Union, and Kalmar, where they will pay 6 gold to Japan, who will in turn capture a province for them and give it to them. It's 6 gold per province, but Japan cannot be held accountable if the province takes more than one army to capture; you will be asked to pay extra.

Kalmar of course, uses its Religious casus belli to seize territory across Siberia.
