Yuan Chonghuan:

A great artillery commander and patriot, Yuan Chonghuan is the Grand Commander of the Song Armed Forces. He joined the then Ming Army in 1534 and fought with Wang Jong (who later founded the Song Dynasty and took the title Emperor Jingzong) in many battles. He was noted in the Battle of Hangzhou and the Battle of Fujian, where his skillful use of the Song artillery allowed Emperor Jingzong to prevail against superior Qing numbers. He is a great patriot and has fought many battles in the frontier against Qing soldiers. He always cares for the poor and never allows his troops to abuse them. His latest victory was a year ago when 10,000 Qing soldiers raided the Song border and enslaved Song citizens. Yuan Chonghuan, with only 1,000 men and 4 cannons, battled the invaders and crushed them, killing 9,000 of them and losing only 10 men.

Xiang Wuji:

Xiang Wuji, the Warrior Priest, is a Taoist Priest who is very skilled in Martial Arts, Swordplay and Internal Energy. His Martial Skills are second to none. A famed patriot, he battles the rich who oppress the poor, helps the common people and assassinates the traitors as well as the Manchus. He travels many times in Qing China and assassinates Han Chinese who work with the Barbarians. Already, more than a thousand Chinese traitors, many of them skilled Martial Artists, have been killed in his hands. Also, he has assassinated countless Manchu officials, including 17 Generals, 10 Grand Ministers and even a Crown Prince, and he has even raided the Qing Imperial Palace twice. His motto is "Killing traitors, fighting injustice!".

So there is no real basis for penalising me when a) there was plenty of time for consideration b) when the final allocation was RNG'd, and c) when its patently arbitrary to penalise me in such a way anyway, particularly considering the Songhai have almost as much religious income as I do, and they have no military deficit of any kind. (and plenty of room for expansion, which I do not have)

It's been changed to 5 armies and 1 navy, as is standard, except for Yakutia, which has no ports and so was given an extra two armies instead of a navy instead.

Just a reminder to everyone to invest in Civics as they expand, but don't invest in Civics too much, or you'll get ka-powed.

I read in one of your forwarded PMs you're not sure why your and Mathalamus' numbers don't seem to match up to everyone else's. Your infrastructure is higher than everyone else's and so you have much larger trade incomes.

The caveat, of course, being that infrastructure will be slashed with expansion.
