[R&F] Sound Bug: Game loses all sound come late game [v1.0.0.220]

Not game breaking TBH but a bug nonetheless. It's been there since forever. R&F is more resource intensive than the base game which may be why you're only noticing it now.

no way...im using a power machine this only happen on map bigger than 140

Must have gotten significantly worse, because I played 500 hrs of Vanilla and never noticed it, but noticed it easily in my first game of R&F.

I can confirm with 100% certainty from my own experiences that the Losing Sound Bug

a) is not just on the largest map, also the second and third largest;

b) was not present in the base game; it only began after the R&F Patch had downloaded (so before I had even purchased the Expansion).

What I'm saying is that it was there for me in the base game when I played very large maps (and in the late game). Sound would go.

Maybe I didn't notice much of a performance difference cos at the same time as R&F installed a new NVIDIA game ready driver also installed which I'm sure improved graphics performance somehow.

Is there anything new to this bug? Will this get fixed? I cant play this game without any sound. Its horrible :(

You may have experienced something like it pre R&F but most of us haven't. I play on huge maps, and never had 95% of the audio just drop out completely pre R&F. Where i do get that since every game.

I also got this bug before R&F release but it only happened on the biggest map (by YNAMP) after 500 rounds.

Now this bug occurs right after starting a new game on the biggest map. In my case you hear everything in the first round. When you reach Round 10 youre playing the game completely silent.

Same issue here, never experienced before Rise and Fall. Now every game will eventually lose sound. This needs to be priority as loading maps every ten minutes at this point is not only annoying but also extremely time consuming. For each 10-20 minutes of play it literally takes 5-6 minutes to reload.

Ouch

Hi Everybody!

For me this issue is a total immersion killer. I stopped playing the game due to this issue. It's annoying to play mute. Especially if somebody declares war or barbarian camp spawns.
Also, I'm used to that sound at the end of each turn which tells to take actions.

So can't do without sound unfortunately. I hope now they fix it in the next patch or if anybody knows workaround please let me know.
I already tried that sound setting which I read somewhere on reddit.

Thanks

I'm not sure if this is universal, or not, but I experienced this issue when I used 'Resume game' on my Information Era save, but when next time I did 'Load game' everything was back to normal and Sean Bean was reading his lines again.

This issue occurs only on huge or bigger maps as far as I have tested. I stopped playing due to the sound issue and other reasons as well.

It's gonna be hard to confirm this bug is fixed for certain (as gamers) but I've not experienced it so far, and I usually do cos I play very big maps.

Firaxis posted this was fixed in the patch notes for the Spring patch so I expect it has. (There are a few other bugs I have come across though).
