Spiff is alive!! I got a PM from him yesterday. He has been going through a major computer upgrade and has not been able to check the forum. Apparently he checked just long enough to reply to my PM. He didn't post anything. He says he will be back

I love Calvin and Hobbes. When I was like eight or so I used to read them all the time. I was too young to get most of the jokes but I ended up acting exactly like Calvin for a few years and I was suitably punished by my parents for all the stuff I pulled.

And I can't believe I returned on the day right after Kefka's last post here and I didn't even see this topic on the radar screen! Admittedly, there have been many more interesting things to talk about other than me.

But I feel bad 'cause y'all laid out the welcome mat & the red carpet for me and I didn't even see them! I feel like I just came late to my own surprise birthday party and everybody went home already! I don't know whether to cry because I feel bad or cry because I feel so welcomed! Oh, what the hell.

I've read & posted so much I can't believe it's only been 1 week!

And here's the really crazy part: I come to a site dedicated to CIVILIZATION and for the last week I've commented (heavily) on: sex before marriage, religion, the death penalty, big business, campaign finance, selective human breeding, Canadian Jay Walking, how Americans are viewed in Europe, Mac vs. PC ... OH! and my name's origin (duh), people leaving, Hanson, ~15 car logos, where else I'd consider living and NeelaX's good looks. That about rounds it out, doesn't it?

So I haven't gotten out of Off-Topic yet, but it's a lot of fun here. Besides, I've been so busy, I haven't gotten to play Civ in LONGER than I've been gone from the forums! (that's sad, too ...

)

Well, I may not have as many posts as many of y'all (even many registering since I left), but if icons were upgraded based on text volume, not post quantity, I'd likely be a true Fanatic by now! Anybody want to argue about that?

Sorry for the volume, guys. I'll try to keep it shorter in the future. But I always do "try" and it hasn't helped yet!

I just checked in here for first time in like a month and SpacemanSpiff returns! I don't know but this might give me motivation to start posting again. My exams are almost over (only the hardest exams to go!) and I can post like a madman again in 2 weeks.

I might have changed a little though. This forum might have gotten me smarter through the ages, since I last saw you.

Nothing drastic has happened in the forum. There have been some trouble makers but they're...gone now.

Oh yeah, you missed the great Zulu vs. Anti-Zulu wars! It was great! We formed this Anti Zulu cult (with Hippo) and others like Hakan and Redwolf formed peaceful pro zulu cults. This attracted Cunobelin of Hippo back to the forums, but as soon as the war was over, he mysteriously left and has never been seen since......
