Speculate on Inca and Spanish UU/UB/UA

Inca:

UU: Quechua Warrior (like in civ4; can't see any replacement)
UB: Terrace
UA: Farms gives +1 food on hills

Spain:
UU: Galleon
UU: Conquistador
UA: Religious buildings costs 50% less (Monastery, Temple)

Inca:

UU: Quechua Warrior (like in civ4; can't see any replacement)

An inca scout could work, too. Maybe make it the same strength as the warrior or something.

I'm not sure about terrace as a UB inside the city. UA definitely.

Terraced farming should be represented EITHER by a UA or UB, not by both, and i imagine firaxis will make it that way.

Spanish UU: Inquisitor - replaces longsword, 25% chance of acquiring enemy unit defeated in battle.
Spanish UB: Torture Chamber - -50% unhappiness under Piety tree in addition to Temple bonus (+2 :)? Can't remember offhand), replaces Temple
Spanish UA: Proselytizing - -33% unhappiness and -33% growth rate in occupied cities prior to courthouse (slow growth due to all the infidels being tortured/exiled for religious reasons)

Tongue (kind of) in cheek.

Quite frankly that would make Spanish civilization look like some sort of evil civilization ;) which in my opinion isn't fit or accurate.
Inquisition would also be more fit for a UA than a UU.

All of those together are meant to emulate the Inquisition and its purpose.

And, it's meant more as a knock on Isabella than Spain, which is a nation I'm rather drawn to. More seriously, I think your suggestions are good possibilities, although I'd change the UA to something to do with money or exploration.

edit, or maybe the UA would make all Piety SPs cheaper or something...

A scout UU is a nice idea, but it would make Warriors useless for Incas. It's quite similar to Babylonian Bowmen which make for this civilization Warriors not useful at all. A weaker scout with perhaps 5 strength and bonuses on hills and movement could be interesting though.

Tell that to the Mayans, Aztecs, Incans, Sephardic Jews and the Moors. Considering Isabella is the queen (I'm guessing), it would only be right to have the Evil side of Spain represented.

Yeah i also think that something about exploration or money could be as fit as something related to religious fervor.

Perhaps something like +2 gold for gold, gems and silver resources.

I mean, Spain was just *exceedingly* rich during Isabella's reign, in large part due to overseas interests.

UA: Colonial Wealth - +2 (3? 4?) gold from overseas trade route (not applicable to cities sharing a landmass with capital).

That could work well in conjunction with a UU ship with extra movement and/or sight.

On the downside, it would make Isabella weak on a Pangaea map.

What would be cool to see:

Inca

UU: Quechua (like in Civ 4) - Maybe a 50% combat bonus on hills?
UB: Terrace (replaces granary) - +1 food to hill farms
UA: Something to do with the messenger system they had. Maybe all non-combat units get +2 movement? Also, ability to build farms on non-riverside hills.

Spanish:

UU: Conquistador - I suppose it would replace the knight or lancer and get a bonus vs. melee units?
UU: Yea, I think a unique ship to address the Spanish Armada would be fitting here. Maybe a it'll be a cheaper version of the caravel/frigate like the landsknecht
UA: No idea. Hopefully it'll include a +200% bonus vs. Aztecs.

Yeah i agree, but consider also that no civilization in history hasn't made crimes.

Romans, Britain, Japan, Germany, Russia, America, Egypt, Netherlands, USA, Ottomans all have their "crimes against humanity".

I don't think that making Spain look like some sort of genocidal fanatic civilization is really accurate and fair.

The US did a much more thorough job of wiping out its native populations, but that isn’t reflected in the game…

When I think of Spain I think of culture at the expense of science, and of a lack of national unity (happiness, in game terms). But I could see the developers giving some sort of bonus to gold resources.

If Spain and Inca continue the trend of the other DLC civs, I can imagine something like:

Inca
UA: Incan [ICS] Terror: Unhappiness from number of cities halved, unhappines from city size doubled.
UU: Quechua (replaces warrior): Can settle a new city.
UB: Agriculture terrace (replaces Granary): converts all farms to Trading Posts.

Spain:
UA: Puppet cities add happiness instead of unhappiness.
UU: Galeón: can be sold to the AI for 600g.
UB: Bullfighting plaza (replaces Stadium): +5 Social Policies

Now, THAT would make the Babylons look so weak, everyone would be forced to buy the DLC

Yeah, except there's no upgrade path for the scout. Maybe a 3 move scout would be pretty good, though. Or really make it unique and allow it to move onto Mountain terrain.

Would be interesting if the Inca had some sort of fort w/bonuses on hilltops, like, 1 damage to enemy units within 1-tile radius of hilltop fort.

And/or, hilltop fort acts as a farm, too.

UA could be Masters of the Mountains or something.

I heard something about sound files for an Incan slinger. Ranged scout perhaps?

Also, hoped for Incan workers to be able to build a unique 'Incan road', which allows regular units to move on mountain tiles as well.
