Spring roll strike!

"replace them with Israelis as part of a broader program to cut the
number of foriegners working in the Jewish state"

"Israel attracts virtually no immigrants from Asia since anyone seeking
citizenship here must prove they have Jewish family or links to the country"

Yes I have read it, thank you. And your point was?;)

Except they aren't immigrants, if they were, there'd be no problems, they are guest workers, and as such they aren't citizens of the state, they can't vote or change the "religion of the state".

As someone already said, its a protectionist policy, an economic policy, and whether you agree with such policies or not, don't say it's about religion or anything else.

So... did I miss the part somewhere that says pork is something Jewish folks don't eat or handle because they consider it unclean? Isn't pork a basic ingredient in many Asian dishes (including spring rolls, egg rolls, etc.)?

While pork is widely used in a lot of Asian food, it's definitely not used in every single dish, and sushis are rarely made of pork. Rolls are often fully vegetarian. And I'm pretty sure that the Asian restaurants in Israel have the common sense to adapt to their customers' customs. They're not stupid.
Also, not all Jews strictly follow the dietary religious laws.

I've no objection in principle to the idea that native-born citizens should get first chance at jobs, but when one's religion can get in the way, isn't it reasonable to simply hire people who don't have that problem?

I don't understand this. Why would religion get in the way?

Jewish sushi chefs? Just imagine how small the pieces are going to be then!

Did I miss something, or is that a racist joke?

Good atleast there is one sane country on the planet. Isreal is a Jewish Isrealite country. If you aren't a Jewish Isrealite then you don't belong there.

Why on Earth? Does this mean that innocent kenyans belong to Kenya or sudanese to Sudan and shouldn't be allowed to leave to save their lives?

Did you hear about the Japanese-Jewish fusion restaurant?

It was called "Sosume".

Anyway, hooray ethnic cleansing. Haven't they learned their lesson?
Please. I agree that this is a dumb policy, but ethnic cleansing this isn't.

As I said in the duplicate thread, I find it highly ironic that the jews of all people take a highly xenophobic stance.

This will be reported in the news of nearly every country with guest
workers in Israel. Not exactly how to win friends and influence people.

A tactful approach would have been to drop the numbers of visas slowly.

This is kinda of shooting yourself in the foot.

>.< F***ing Israel.

I'm beginning to think humanity will never learn anything.
