Ssnes3:

If you bothered to read my posts in this thread, you would have realized it is not decided yet. I'm waiting for ICE to tell me how long the shipping takes. I'll start the NES as soon as I have the wireless modem.

I dont read! I skim. I thought you knew that by now, reading takes too long:P

As opposed to earlier? :p

No need to get nasty! We will settle this next year when I come home: GRRRR!!! I won't forget, believe me I WON'T!

PS! I have probably forgotten it by monday anyway, unless I have reason to re-read.... re-SKIM this particular thread.

Well, I'm going to submit one creature idea, though its not particularly useful as military or food. It's the Anan, which is very similar to a fish[1]. They are boneless and look a bit like a thin sheet (they're much thinner than most fish as a result of having no skeleton), but have distinct fins and move through water similarly to Earth fish. I don't have an image to give you right now, but hopefully that should give you an idea. They'll probably figure prominently in Allendin culture.

[1]The general consensus among astrobiologists is that fish-like creatures would develop anywhere with water. Fish have a near-ideal form for movement in water.

These are what my people look like:

On the Age system: why call the stat "age" when you really should call it "metal" or something like that? :p

Neat fauna, but what is to stop the Ancients from smuggling in horses (or something similar) from another world? I mean, reptilian mounts are cool, but IMHO horses have certain advantages over them as well.

Ah well, I do agree that standard fauna would've been too boring.

So are we bound to stay in pointy stick era for 100+ turns?

Or you could just call it "weaponry"... :p

Or, I could just let it be as it is. It's fine as long as everyone is aware that it does not represent tech level, but primary metal utilized for weaponry, tools and such.

@Cleric: I expect you all to be digging like crazy to find metals now, so I don't think you will be throwing pointy rocks at eachother for very long, no.

But still we will be in pointy sharpy things era...... *sigh*

Dude, you've got orc(k?)s! Who cares about technology when you're a bunch of heavily muscled green dumb guys?

To what extent will this be a fresh start? From your introduction, it seems that societies have been re-forming for a while, so will there be already established empires and/or races that recovered faster?

It will be a FS to the extent that there are no other civilizations to speak of, other than you. There will be the occasional tribe of humans, gathered together in hopes of surviving (we are social beings after all) and a few species about to be rendered extinct. Other than that, there's pretty much only your nations that have managed to come out the other end of the tunnel.

Don't underestimate ork teknology. Plus, what are orkz without proper, iron axes(z?)?

We call 'em choppas! But I wantz shootas and rokkit launchas too!

Hakkas an' Kuttas an' Stabbas!

Be satisfied with what you have now, you can get the other stuff later on.

Relax. Stones and sticks are just as lethal as iron weapons. Only not as durable. ;)

I will be lurking this nes. :D
