Standard 20k Demigod

1-750 Move workers back to 001. Two Zulu galleys are off the coast between 010 and 013. Science to 80% for ToG in 4.

Both the Zulu and Mongols have learned Astronomy. F7 tells us nothing. Neither the Zulu nor the Mongols have started on Cope's yet but they will next turn. We could use some cash to investigate the cities where they start building Cope's but we will not know exactly where until next turn. We can switch the 001’s build from Shake’s(in 2) to Cope’s(in 1) without losing shields. So it looks like we have to make a blind decision on whether to continue with Shake's or switch to Cope's. My gut feeling is that we should switch to Cope's based on the fact we are the only one that has Free Artistry. What’s your preference?
 
I'd rather play safe than sorry. So finish Cope's, and then start Shake's. Perhaps not necessary, but I'd rather do things that way.

2-760 001 Cope’s-Shake’s. 005 worker-university. Science to 70% for ToG in 3. The Aztecs know Astronomy. The Zulu galleys appear to be just passing thru.

3-770 003 marketplace-bank. Change 005 build from university to bank. 008 will complete an university in 2 and then will start building a bank. This will give us 5 banks in process of being built.

4-780 Science stays at 70% for ToG in 1 with a 68 beaker overrun. Oh well.

5-790 ToG-Magnetism. 008 university-bank. 007 bank-courthouse. Science to 90% for Magnetism in 4. Everyone now has Democracy. The Zulu have Military Tradition.
 
Pre-turn 007 from a courthouse to a trebuchet. A courthouse might uncorrupt 1 or 2 commerce here. Probably not worth it. Wake some workers from 001 and move them near 007 to mine it to maximum production. 16 to get precise.

3-820 011 market-harbor. Aztecs and Mongols start Shake's. Use scientists in 012. Hit Enter. Trade Zulu Free Artistry for 11 gpt and 14 gold and Incense.

4-830 Magnetism-Steam Power due in 6 turns at 100%. 007 trebuchet-trebuchet. 014 university-bank. 016 aqueduct-market. Zulu start Shake's.

5-840 Zulu learn Physics. Hopefully they don't learn ToG within the next 8 or 9 turns.

5-890 Steam Power-Industrialization. 002 bank-trebuchet. 013 riots. My bad. Change 1 laborer in 013 to scientist. Science to max for Industrialization in 6. No one else has ToG yet.

I have question regarding the galleon with 4 workers. Based on the galleon's 940 AD position, I believe you want to travel east to the Mongol city of Mandalgovi and road the iron located on the mountain near there. Is that correct? I do not want to waste any movement turns.
 
I thought the Zulu site looked better. I didn't analyze throughly though. Consider the following questions to figure this out: Who has an iron source right now? Who can get extra iron for us? Where lies the closest spot where we can hook up extra iron?
 
The Zulu site between Tugela and Amatikulu is closer. But with 2 cities with harbors nearby, I'm guessing the iron on the hill has already been roaded. I may be wrong. Mandalgovi appears to be isolated and the iron is on a mountain. I'm guessing that iron has not been roaded yet. Bottom line, I just don't know. I'll move to the Zulu site first as it is closer. At least I know I'm headed in the right direction. I'll play and post tomorrow night.

3-970 006 university-bank. 015 university-harbor. Our galleon enters Zulu waters off Amatikulu. It appears that the iron on the hill is unroaded. We enter a RoP with the Zulu for a RoP plus 20g. We will have to monitor any Zulu troop movement from Isipezi back on our home island.

4-980 007 barracks-temple. 014 bank-temple to put pressure on Isipezi to flip. The Aztecs are building Newton’s University. Darn. I moved our galleon one more square to land our workers and see the iron on the hill is roaded. Our galleon continues moving east. Oh well.

5-990 002 granary-barracks. 003 temple-colosseum. 005 bank-harbor. 008 bank-barracks. The Mongols are building Newton’s University. We see another Zulu iron far north by New Zimbabwe. Looks like it would take approximately 7 turns to get our galleon there. The iron near the Mongol city of Mandalgovi can be reached in 2. We head that way. Science to 70% for Medicine in 1. As I type my notes, I remember seeing coal by the Zulu city of Ibabanago. Maybe I should have moved the galleon in that direction. Sorry about the confusion.
 
Spoonwood and I have agreed to let me finish this effort out as a solo game.

This past weekend I was eager to put the lessons I've learned from this succession game with Spoonwood into action. I achieved my first Demigod win (Tiny, 20K) which I submitted to the HoF. There is still a lot of room for improvement on my part but I'm pleased with the process I've made with Spoonwood's assistance. I have thanked Spoonwood for his efforts via PM but would like to do so publicly now... Thanks Spoonwood for your time and teaching!!! Your efforts are greatly appreciated!!!
 
I've not finished the game yet Bucephalus. I've been actively submitting games to the HoF. My submissions include two Demigod 20k games and one Deity 20k game. Spoonwood's guidance was key to my success.
