Okay here's the deal, after watching a Star Trek marathon captian Jean Luc Picard beams into your living room. After saying "Holy *(Censored)*", soiling yourself, and spilling your cheetos all over the floor, Jean Luc Gives you this once-in-a-lifetime offer:

[English Accent] You may have any of one these technological items, your choice [/English Accent]

What do you do? and why?

Man, I never liked Star Trek. I watched a few episodes and thoguht, 'How do these people like ST better than Star Wars or Lord of the Rings?'

I would actually ask him if he knew Gandalf or Han Solo and tell him to go about his business.

I thought Jean Luc was French.. shouldn't that be a French accent? ;)

Anyhow, I'd take Data (assuming we're talking about the android and not information itself.) I'd use Data to help me invent and create new technology which would eventually lead to all of the aforementioned options. What good is a warp vessel really without computers and communications to help you? What good is a replicator if all you can make is food (although in the show they do have replicators which can help create other materials)? What good is a holodeck if all you can do is try and make some money off it by having people use it, but if it breaks down and you can't figure out how to repair it you're screwed.

Data, with his knowledge of the future and power supply to last him forever assumably, would be a great help. The next thing on the list I'd take is the cloaking device just for fun.

It was a toss up between Holodeck and Replicator but Replicator wins easily.

I'm suprised no one else has voted for it yet

holodeck easily, i'd whip up a scenario with 20 nympomaniac's, whip cream, and---- well you get the idea

I'd take the phaser, then threaten to vaporize him if he didn't give me the rest! [phaser]

If that's not an option, then the holodeck.

Yeah. .. I like the replicator idea myself. With a wife and five kids. . . well, food bills would go bye-bye.

Not on the list, but I wouldn't mnd having a shuttlecraft. Sure, it's 'short range', but as I recall, 'short range' for a shuttle craft is measured in light years. . .

Would we also have the knowledge to maintain the devices?

Oh, man. Now this is actually a good poll!

Glad you guys all would find the decision so easy. First thing I'd ask is 'Uh, what about Jeri Ryan'??

Hhmmm....after that it would definitely have to be either the warp-capable vessel, Data, the holodeck or a cloaking device. Which one?

Probably the warp-capable vessel I guess.

Nah, the replicator:

"Dollars, 21st century American, denomination 1000, quantity 1000"
etc.

Easy one!

Exactly!

Just think. . .come Nov. 18th (My aniversary). . . "Diamond, three carat, gold band, size 6." I'd be the best man in the world!
