As for the movies the best is episode 4. After all that is the one that started the whole craze. I used to be such a star wars freak but ever since the prequels came out Star Wars has turned into a Twilight Saga-esque cheeze fest.

I used to like the Expanded Universe novels, then I realized what crap anything without Zhan's name (maybe Stackpole's) on it was. Particularly if it has "New Jedi Order", "Legacy of the Force" or "Fate of the Jedi" on the cover)

Allston and Stover are the other two really good EU authors, IMO. Allston is like Stackpole with a sense of humor, and Stover's just friggin' epic.

Drew Karpyshyn is good, he was the lead writer on SWKOTOR and he wrote the Darth Bane trilogy.

Karpyshyn is all right, but he seemed kinda formulaic to me. I've liked what he's done in the Mass Effect universe so far, though.

"Good" is a relative term when describing EU authors.

Yep most suck. AC Crispin would be the other one. She wrote the 90's Han Solo trilogy. I don't really like Stackpole though. Very boring and mary sue with Corran Horn IMHO. Karpyshyn is alright as well. Not in Zahn/Allston/A.C Crisin territory but better than mnost. Worst would be Barbara Hambly or Vonda McIntyre- Children of the Jedi, PLanet of Twilight and The Crystal Star. Just very boring/awful books.

Star Wars Rebellion was to easy. I can beat that game on hard as the Alliance by withdrawing back to the Rebel capital and advancing the clock 500 days and do nothing until then. As the Empire around 200 days as large rebel leets start turning up oiver Coruscasnt a few hundred days later and you have nothing.

3. I'm partial to Darth Maul (is he EU?). Until it was clear that his visual uniqueness was racial, I though he was way cooler than Vadar.

he first appeared in phantom menace, his race all have those horns but i think the colouring is like tattoos or something

Anyone else here a Star Wars Geek? Some very serious questions.

2. What do you think of the expanded universe (books, comics, video games)
3. Favourite EU character/villain
4. Best and worst Star Wars authors.

I like Grand Admiral Thrawn as favourite SW villain (more than Vader), Darth Revan and the Knights of the Old Republic video game, and I liked the Legacy comics. Alot of crap in the EU as well such as the New Jedi Order books.

2. I think the expanded universe is good
3. Yoda is my favourite character
4. George Lucas is the best author
