Your Star Wars VII?

True but he could be still be around in the ST timeline. He would be in third place behind Plageuis and Palpatine.
He could be. Anything could be. Have you seen Rebels?
Spoiler :
If they bring back Thrawn, there are a number of other plot points they need to look at at the same time.
You're confusing knowledge with acceptance. Not that it is uncommon these days. In fact I disliked what they were doing with the prequels so much that the last time I was in the cinema for a Star Wars movie was episode II.
Which makes a solid two of the prequel era you saw in-cinema, no? ;)

I understand that you don't accept it, for sure. But that's my point! Again, I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just a massive Star Wars nerd trying to explore what other fans thing of the series.

My re-imagining the prequels relies on my understanding of the spiritual cohesion of the original films (for lack of a better word).
I was under the impression your re-imagining of the prequels excised them from existence, hah. Given your comment about treating the originals as though the prequels had never existed. I could definitely be mistaken though.

I wouldn't mind another example of that skill. Also when the original character is a little older.
The animated shows (the Clone Wars, Rebels) have a lot of examples, but if we're sticking purely to movies, Episode I also has the Trade Federation bit and there's the whole opening to Episode III. That said, I wouldn't mind more examples either :D

 See above and please see a few minutes of this. Timestamp: 27:43. It shows how spiritually different the prequels are.
Funny, sure, but convincing . . . eh. Somewhat CinemaSins-esque, though less pointed. I like that he revises his work over time though.

I'm pretty sure he's going to be the villain of Rosario Dawson's series and will likely meet his demise there.
Agreed on the villain. Or a (major) villain, for sure. Disagreed on the demise though. Not sure how they're going to play out deaths in this post-original film setting they're playing out at the moment.
Spoiler :
Heck, I keep forgetting he was mentioned in the Mandalorian. Ugh. He could even appear ahead of Ahsoka, depending on whether or not that's going to bridge Rebels and the Mandalorian or not.
That's my guess but we know Ahsoka dies (voices in RoS).
Most of the old guard are gone by the time of the Rise of Skywalker. It's set like 20 or more years after the current Mandalorian / Book of Boba Fett timeline (which is several years after RotJ, I believe). Lotta time to cover whatever stories they want to tell, for sure.

I've seen Rebels loved it.

Thrawns comment was he could have been the big bad of a new trilogy or been revealed in RoS at least.

Because they threw away Smoke and went with redemption arc for Kylo they had very few options in RoS.

Kylo was to wishy washy and ineffective to be the villain in RoS

oh , just great , another thread to replace what exists under the cover of equality and diversity reinforced by a desire for better story telling .

raybans is what used to refer to ... This or that ?

with that out of the way , ı would like to remind people that an attempt to correct Star Wars was made and it is the Disney triology and those masterpieces were so great that millions of people forgot why they were supposed to hate the Prequels as the worst crimes in movie history . My greetings to Team Abrams and Disney and whatnot . Having re-watched the Khan episode of nuTrek last night and discovering (once again) superb imagery does not cover plot issues size of the Alpha Quadrant , ı simply offer the wisdom that goodwill for Jennifer Garner's Alias has long run out ... There is mighty wisdom in old guard , no doubt , for not letting me to see anything full after the first season , too . Do not want to re-tell the Prequels because they 'ing limit your creativity ; am not particularly afraid that a re-shoot would decrease the importance of a certain individual , too , for having fallen to the Dark Side in the interim . You wouldn't find it very funny to discover why America can not fight people in real space .

indeed no one does . But perhaps you will want to hear me out ...

see , Kaddafi was quite a lost soul but he wasn't always bad . Or that bad or whatever . He was very patient when his intelligence service told him that certain agencies were building a super heavy / kind of Bolo tank in Tunus under the cloak of filming The Star Wars , you know , masquarading as the Jawa transport and it would somehow drive all the way through the desert and kill him in his tent when he was down to the South of Libya . He was naturally painted in quite a bad light in Arab Monarchies , especially those by the Gulf . So , when there was some other conspiracy , a tall tale of Kaddafi's assassination , to be run by a US Marine Colonel so powerful that he would fly his secretary to foreign trips in an Harrier jet and am old enough to know what secretaries were for in the 1970s and 80s , this was recounted with much merriment . And become a certain status symbol , when the Sheik of Dubai had an helicopter pad on his megayatch , reinforced to handle the wear and tear of Harrier operations ... Abu Dabi and Dubai are in intense competition and there had to be something ...

clearly Abrams enjoys crpping on various franchises , changing everything to make old fools cry and whine . Much better when it is covered with excellent PR . The Disney triology was all about the Black guy's you know what . Only when things started to go downhill for the Arab Spring against the wish of the Crown Prince from Abu Dabi , Mega Big Zit being his name , Abrams braked and changed things to become less offensive to unnamed parties . Episode Vlll would have been awfully cool , when there was the diversion and ships travelled empty while everybody landed on Crait safe and sound and happily followed the bling foxes into the cave . Only to discover Kylo Ren and a massive army and they all burn to a crispy cinder behind the iron door . Which is not what happens in Ergenekon ; refer to Wikipedia in case of any need . The entire Rebellion or Resistance would indeed fit in Millennium Falcon , as Rey escapes from Supremacy with the help of the guy with his big you know what . To avoid Mega Big Zit and notions that this was indeed a diversion , Abrams cited V directed by some other guy and this was a tradition and Rian Johnson . Yemen and other stuff were bigger distractions ... by the time Abrams returned .

because of mighty wealth and Mega Big Zit's proven track record of unability to handle even New Turkey (which really involves drone warfare in Libya) despite New Turkey is always ready to bend the knee for a fistful of dollars , there might still be the germ of conquering the Star Wars . To be successful this time . Am aware of the issues of representation and stuff , but you people must be ready to understand the pruning afterwards might be harsh and total . Quite more comprehensive than what will happen with VII to IX . And don't bother about talking about a new great age and its norms to replace the old . There are quite a few people out there in the bush who know the true operation behind Greta Thunberg is not Global Warming , but having a posterchild for attacking those who respect r e tards like r16 , considering CFC autocensors the word .

Hm. Okay, I haven't seen I-III. I tried, but they're so boring that I literally couldn't stay awake. So if I were to do VII my own way, I'd actually go back much more in time for I and II, and only in III start referencing the situation that led to the opening in IV.

Opening for VII? Leia and Han marry, Luke attends, then wishes them well and leaves for whatever Jedi thing he might have going on. Leia and her political colleagues have a post-Emperor society to put back together. At some point their son is conceived, but Han feels useless in the halls of politics. He wants to do things, not just sit around and debate. This causes friction in the marriage, as he finds it difficult to impossible to adapt to Leia's world.

Whatever happens after that? I really don't care much, as long as the people who supported the Emperor don't get to rally and regain their power.

And Han lives.

Basically the old EU circa 91-94

It makes sense though except the actors have aged out.

30 years ago sure.

Any Solid/Skywalker kids would need to be developed on screen now as adults.
Well, if I'd been making them, I wouldn't have waited decades.

Of course this would have had a significant effect on Ford's other movies, some of which I have seen (the Indiana Jones movies, Air Force One, Witness, The Fugitive).

Everyone talks about Thrawn, but how compelling is Space Napoleon really?

He's a bit too cold to be an A-List villain I'd say.

Maybe if they made him purple?

oh my God , it is real ... like already suspected , a desire to re-do the Prequels , if Team Abrams can not shoot some , if not a new-new triology , at least the Prequels ... Justified by the great diversity show at the end where a million Jedi come down from Heaven and beat the evil White Male . Jedi of all races , species and now genders ... Not a he , not a she , a being is what the being wants type to be clearly seen and left for people to wonder . So that that being might have been the lead for a new triology to ruin the Prequels , to start shooting like immediately after the end of work for lX . Ruin being the wrong word but excrementing on things is not a thing to discuss in proper company and whatnot . Except Lucasarts remnants sabotaged that . And it was just down to voices ...

and it was in the books , pre The Force Awakens , Jar Jar exiled and the very movement of Darth Vader Lives . The whiny boy irritates a lot of cool boys , eh ? The sequels would show Abrams was a much greater director than Lucas with Vll , wreck the old f_rts of fans with the next two , with X to Xll completing Hollywood's revenge .

at this point should ı really remind my Eric Cartman on a taun-taun powers ?

yeah , this post has all signs of being flimsy , so , obviously we must go deeper . Like am pretty sure ı had discussed it already but the reason Finn hates women is Phasma . Molesting the black kid , as a kid , because of his big you know what . And getting him into worse and worse work details and stuff when he chose like the other team when he grew old enough to decide . Pedophilia is of course proper when one fits Phasma in chrome , the very knight in shining armour , naturally required to come from the salvage yards , namely Naboo ships . Marvel comics chose to delete the first choice , the Royal yatch from the Phantom Menace , by having it destroyed by an unshielded descend through Mustafar's atmosphere while under the command of Vader . Because that would be a mighty cool move of Disney of linking a nine or so years old whiny and some fourteen or sixteen or whatever Padmé Amidala with actual evil . So , which one it is , the chrome thing in ll , Tatooine to Geno something ? Or the one in the lll ? And yeah , there will be no trees on Mustafar , or any Vaderistas . Like Mustafar is such a young planet that it will not support the evolution of life and if anyone is going to cite notes from 1990s or early 2000s , let George Lucas mind his own business , shall we ?

much admiration of Disney , punishing some Black , Whoopi by the name , to prepare the groundwork for writing out a Jew out of the picture , say , considering a couple of Oscar nominations might challenge the descriptions of poor acting all around .

but none of these happen to be the big question . How is Putin going to do that , calling on Xi of China , due shares in Disney ?

disney comes after me , generally only with referrals to Weinstein ; but this was written on the tablet , keep it around in case of need so that ı can save it .

accursed tablet always corrects what ı write whenever am not looking , which then leads to an erosion of care ı show during writing and can always miss during proof reading that comes after posting . My apologies for the imperative at the last sentence and ı have the page saved as well .

My list would be more of things NOT to do, since they did so many bad things. But I'll include a list of thoughts of how I'd do it after the "bad bad bad stop it" list

- The premise was not thought out very well and just a copy of A New Hope, with the roles reversed, but not really. It's like they really wanted to have the baddies - rebels dynamic but couldn't figure out how to make it happen, so they just said "Well, there it is. Take it or leave it."
- The whole trilogy is a long chain of macguffins. We need this to get that to get there to find this to get the other thing which will lead us to this. FULL STOP. We need a well written plot that's driven by something coherent
- They introduced a lot of new characters that they did nothing with. No characters in the trilogy had any sort of interesting story arc, aside from Kylo Ren. Rey was too all over the place to really call it an arc.
- If you're going to hint at something, do not just ignore it later. Finn's character was abandoned, and the premise was so fascinating at first, with his stormtrooper history and hints of force sensitivity.
- Never start a movie and never introduce the big baddie of the whole trilogy with: "Somehow..."
- The Hosni system being destroyed and visible from everywhere in the galaxy in real-time did not make sense and was very stupid. Obviously just done so they'd have that "Omg look up at the sky" scene. Boo
- The whole last hour was incredibly stupid. Star destroyers with death star lasers on their foreheads? What is this, austin powers? Who built them all and how? Who are they staffed by? Why can't they just fly away?
- The whole trilogy nobody was able to get a fleet of allies together to help out, but Lando was able to do it in 5 minutes, when it mattered the most. Huh?
- If it was so hard to get to this place where all these sharks with lasers on their heads were, how did that allied fleet arrive there so easily? I thought you had to go through all these maneuvers to get there.
- At the end of episode 8 a little boy is shown at the end, as a hint that the force maybe can just arise in anybody, and not just people with famous last names. But nope, that was abandoned and we never heard of this again.
- I'm getting sick of characters who are dead just magically coming back to life 4 movies later. If death is not so inevitable then it makes the act of a character dying feel less impactful when it happens.
- In The Last Jedi the part where Finn & Rose race towards the approaching baddies did not make much sense. What was their plan? How did they get back to the base? I had other problems with this scene, but can't 'member.
- The whole "Let's go to a casino to find a guy who can lead us to this thing that can lead us to this other thing" was stupid. It looked good maybe, but it was a waste of time that did not advance the story any.
- Phasma was presented to us like a full-of-herself bumbling fool, but then that was all abandoned and they did nothing interesting with her death or any part of her story.
- The main problem with the trilogy was really that there was no overarching story from start to finish. Each movie felt like a separate thing going on, with not much connecting them. Disney does not seem to know how to properly put together a trilogy.

It's not really easy to do Disney's job for them in 5 minutes and think up a new trilogy idea. A trilogy needs to have a coherent story running throughout all 3 movies, with characters evolving along the way, proper character development done so that we can get to know them and understand their motivations, and the protagonists having well thought out character acs that span the whole trilogy. All of this takes hard work and time to think up and properly plan and write, which is seemingly something Disney was not willing to do at all. It also isn't something I can do in 5 minutes. But let's see.. I might as well have a go at it. Let's assume episode 7 exists the way it does, with some key changes:

Episode 7:

- The Hosni system is not destroyed because that was stupid
- There is no Starkiller base, because that was stupid. Instead the climax of the movie is a showdown between Rey & Finn with Kylo Ren, the way we saw on screen, and the rest of the climax would be a space battle in which First Order ships engage the Resistance. At the end of the movie Snoke is seen escaping after his fleet has been destroyed, and that's when we see that he has a master, who we can't see.
- The movie would also tell us more about why the hell everything is backwards but isn't. This would be more like hints in dialogue and not a "Here's what happened..." sort of thing
- At the end of the movie I would have Finn put on his stormtrooper uniform again and go undercover, and disappear with the remnants of the First Order fleet, in an attempt to figure out more about them and get some intel.

Episode 8:

- A big part of the plot is Finn fermenting a stormtrooper rebellion, after he sends the resistance some intel about the Yuuzhan Vong empire being in the picture. It is them who have been helping the First Order set up their new digs. At the end of the movie the climax would include a stormtrooper rebellion taking over a small fleet of star destroyers and helping turn the tides in a big battle.
- The Knights of Ren are the main baddies in this movie, they abandon Kylo Ren and get their orders from Snoke directly. There is a scene where Kylo Ren fights them, but then escapes after putting up a good fight.
- I really liked the way Snoke was killed by Rey & Ren, so I would keep that in the story. They team up out of necessity, and leading up to that we see Kylo Ren questioning the First Resistance more and more. They kill Snoke about halfway through the movie, after which they go their separate ways.
- Rey goes looking for Luke, so she can be properly trained. She does not have any lightsaber with her, because that was stupid. She finds him at the very end of the movie.
- Kylo Ren goes on his own "I need to like, find myself dude" journey and ends up on some remote planet meditating. Something draws him there and he ends up meeting a new mentor.
- At the end of the movie Kylo Ren shows up with some new friends, but his motivations are unclear. He destroys the Knights of Ren but also fights the good guys a bit along the way. He goes after Snoke's old master, and there is a big lightsaber battle between them at the end of the movie, that more or less ends in a tie. They both go their separate ways afterwards, with the Resistance scratching their heads a bit as to what just happened. The Yuuzhan Vong fleet is more or less destroyed, but we see a wounded version of their fleet making a run for it and escaping, with Snoke's master on board.

Episode 9:

- The movie opens with Luke training Rey & Finn in the ways of the force. Eventually we find out that Rey can't be trained as a Jedi, because she has some hangups or something.
- Kylo Ren is shown with his own fleet and set of allies, and they all want to track down Snoke's old master and destroy him. A part of the story revolves around that. Kylo realizes that he can't destroy the Yuuzhan Vong & the First Order himself and that he probably needs to team up with the Resistance, but he refuses to do so.
- The Rey & Ren dryad thing that allows them to communicate over long distances would be in this movie. I found this silly, but it would help the story dynamics here.
- The whole movie would basically be a 3 way set of battles between The Resistance, spearheaded by Luke, Rey, Finn.... Kylo Ren's faction, which has a fleet and base of operations of their own and includes some elements of the First Order, and the big baddie ex-Snoke master & the First Order, along with the Yuuzhan Vong.
- Some of the story would revolve around how Kylo & Rey communicate and try to figure out a way to work together, but it just doesn't work out.
- In the final battle Kylo Ren sacrifices himself to take out Snoke's ex-master in an epic lightsaber duel that kills them both, while his fleet eventually teams up with the resistance in order to defeat the Vong & The First Order.
- Kylo ren dies in Rey's arms, who catches up with him after the duel was complete.
- Luke does not engage in any of the action himself directly, aside from flying around in an X-Wing and joining in the battle. In the climax of the movie he uses the force to swing a massive asteroid into the Vong capital ship, taking out half their fleet along with it. The act damages his X-Wing and he flies off into the void, as the battle continues to rage on.
- At the end of the movie Rey fights a duel with the Vong leader, who is also force sensitive. They have an epic showdown, in which Rey uses some of her Jedi training, but also some of the pain from Ren's death to fuel some rage inside her.
- The movie ends with Rey, Poe, and the other heroes celebrating their victory on Coruscant. Prime Minister Chewbacca gives them all medals. Fade out to black

No Solo in any of this, because he had his time and his story has already been told. Droids? Yeah, they'll be there for comic relief, here and there. Leia? We'd need to figure out a good way to squeeze her in too and pay the proper tribute. That would take a bit more thought.

I don't really have a brand new idea for the movie/trilogy, just some thoughts that I kinda like.

Episode VII should include Ben's training with Luke and showing him convert to the dark side. Not in flashbacks like they did but having it actually play out through the movie. Maybe start the movie with Ben being Luke's star pupil but he somehow encounters Snoke through the force I guess. Snoke is able to plant a seed of doubt that Luke and the Jedi aren't all that great. With that seed planted, there is a scene where Ben interprets Luke's actions as a threat even though Luke is really trying to help/council Ben. (I know that's pretty vague. I just can't think of a specific situation on how that would occur. Guess I'm not a great writer :p). Ben flies into a rage, burns down the Jedi school, convinces some other students to join him and they become the Knights of Ren.

The First Order should have been the remnants of the Empire. They should be scattered and aimless but through Snoke's leadership they come together and by the end of VII they are a viable threat to the New Republic. In VIII they can gain more power and be seen to be on an equal footing.

No more Death Stars!

Other than that, I kinda like Warpus's ideas so we can go with that.

- I'm getting sick of characters who are dead just magically coming back to life 4 movies later. If death is not so inevitable then it makes the act of a character dying feel less impactful when it happens.

This was the one thing above all else that I hated about IX. I mean there are plenty of things I hated about that movie, but that in particular was so stupid. EVERYONE came back to life.
  • Palapatine was actually a clone, or reanimated himself or something.
  • The ship Chewy was on exploded but the next scene it turns out he was on a different ship.
  • C3PO gets his memory wiped but they have a backup because that's how computers work.
  • Kylo gets stabbed by Rey but Rey force heals him.
  • Han is a force ghost for some reason
  • Kylo/Ben gets thrown into a pit by the Emperor but he just climbs out.
  • The Emperor kills Rey but Ben force heals her.

I dunno... if you substitute Ben with Anakin, Luke with Obi-Wan, & Snoke with Palpatine, you basically just wrote Attack of the Clones + Revenge of the Sith. Now, whether or not that makes you a good writer is a hot debate among fans. :)

Ok never mind. Scratch that idea off the list.

a lot of things not written or even thought by me ; should yet another proof that the primary aim was killing off the Star Wars . And no Vuushan whatever thing . Thrawn novels hint at something evil without the funny faces that would look like Klingons from Star Trek discovery .
