Star Wars Mod

    It would be either for Vanilla or Beyond the Sword, which is well worth getting anyway ;) It won't be for Warlords, coz the only thing from Warlords that they didn't put into BTS is the scenario's that came with Warlords.

    Just as a thought...
    I'm on my mac right now so i can't download the mod to check out what you have done with it, but i noticed on the download page that you havn't thought of any resources or that the resource section has yet to be started. Again, having not played this yet, only read some posts, i feel that your incorporation of the jedi/sith is very little. This is a very large part of the start wars universe so that alone could help with a large part of the things you have yet to start or are missing. Some of the resources could be Nerfs, the crystals used in lightsabers, composite materials they used in ship production and so on.
    I really feel that if you need ideas on what to do. Watch the movie :) trust me within watching the first couple minutes im sure numerous ideas could come out of it

    Also , ha it just hit me that if you look at my join date, the whole reason i joined this was to try and find a star wars mod. which i did play now that i think about it, back in the beginning days of your work.

    About the Jedi/Sith thing. I don't think their importance should be overstated, simply because much of the Star Wars literature available focuses on them. In civ terms - that is, Building and running an Empire - The Force has relatively little importance. The Jedi are mostly a peacekeeping force that A system/Government can choose to Ally with, While for the Vast majority of The Sith history is about a master and apprentice. The only time this isn't the case that is readily recalled is during the massive wars in early history that I doubt we would cover, and the story in the Movies where it would be difficult to replicate exactly anyway.

    Ok lol this is my first post but i managed to stumble across this mod. Anyway, I agree with not putting too much effort, into the force itself. The force i would put in the religion section because in the star wars it is regarded as an 'old religion'. But it isnt the only religion there would only be two of them (Dark force, Light force), then the other religions would spin off other empire's philosphy/religion being No-Belief, polythiesm, self etc...

    And look back at the other page, Final frotier is a good idea to put in, instead of having and invasion ship, it would be soldiers (clones,battledroids) that couldnt attack other spaceships and had no defence verse other spaceships, but huge bonus at attacking planets, then would be upgraded to better versian.

    And seriously i would only focus on one era. at a time like lets say clone wars, the civs would be Wookie, Galactic Republic, Confederacy, Trade Federation, Mon Calamari, Mandolore, Hutts, Black sun, Trandosions, etc...

    I got this game a month ago, so i have no experiance with "modding" this game, but i have made maps, and done little modding with other games. Does anyone happen to know what to download inorder to make units, mod, make maps or anylike that would be coolz to know other wise id have to figure it out myself:), but if i do figure this modding stuff out id be happy to help u guys

    Civmansam has taken more of a back role in recent times. Development is slow, but it's a fairly large diverse group, most of us don't have a whole heap of experience, and we (along with everyone else that mods :p) have other lives. But it Will Happen.

    I'm not so sure... I think using the Value system of the Final Frontier mod would work well - just change the values to something like Order, Freedom and Profit to roughly divide the Empire, Rebellion and neutral sides. There could be advantages for the rebels to have freedom (more enthusiastic soldiers?) while it could cause problems for the Empire (chance of revolt, unhappiness).

    Jedi could appear like great people, and confer combat bonuses on units in the same square, spy, advocate Freedom or Order values etc. In fact, this could be extended to other characters, as in Rebellion and Empire at War.

    Or alternatively, space is the new ocean and the planets are the only land?

    YES. My personal favourate would be the period of Episodes 4, 5 and 6 (maybe beginning just after 3), but sticking to one period is a must.

    Hey, I have been working for about a month on my own mod for Star Wars. It's on the Yuuzhan Vong war in the New Jedi Order series, and was wondering if anyone wanted to try out what I have so far? It has the map, the units, some civpedia entries, but it is still pretty simple. There are 7 playable civs: New Republic, Empire, Chiss, Hapes, Yuuzhan Vong, Ssi-Ruuk, and the Hutts. The Yvethans and Corporate Sector are non-playable. If anyone wants to test it or learn more, let me know.

    So is there a version for vanilla?
